AFL got more for its TV rights because of more advertising spots, it is as simple as that..
relevant for FTA but not really for fox or kayo. Also, the networks understand the value of similar ratings over a longer time period. They probably place far greater value over the AFL's 600k over 3hrs compared to the NRL's 450k over 2hrs
"They probably" ain't gonna cut it pal. You just made that up. It's meaningless. Another post that should be on the scheduling and non ratings thread.

agree relevant to FTA and not for FOX>
AFL Telecast is not 1 hour longer..

though an AFL Telecast getting 1 million viewers to NRL telecast getting 1 million viewers.
AFL is most certainty more valuable,
with 30mins longer and increased advertising opportunities.

In that 30mins that is longer, AFL probably get more Adverts than the entire NRL Game.
now that is saying something...
it is. But last year has shown the effect of a longer telecast on average ratings. So when the AFL rates 600k this number may well have been 650-700k if averaged over 2hrs. Another reason cumulative season ratings are irrelevant
Great story pal. If only the ratings companies adjusted the numbers the way you want 'em to do lolololol.

And another great post for scheduling and other non ratings thread!!!!!!
I'd say the networks do that, not the companies that produce the raw numbers. It probably accounts for why the AFL get more money :)))

Oh yeah............sure pal!!! Whatever ya say. You've got an honest face!!!! Why don't ya just make up ya own numbers. You know...... inflate 'em for 'isolation', 'length of game', 'whatever else' and 'whatever ya like'.

Tag just enough on at the end of each round so that fumbling has more over aggregate and averages for the round. That way you're guaranteed a fumble win.

Go for it pal!!!!!!!!!!!

if, as you claim, raw numbers and season totals are all that matters, the NRL would get more coin, especially given it has SOO and internationals. Clearly there is far more to it that you either dont understand or are willfully ignoring. It's plain as day. It's the reason the AFL win most TH and FR nights, and all finals, yet lose on the weekend. The evidence is there, you just refuse to accept it

LOL's you really struggle with this overlapping PTV thing .You have(in there entirety) almost as many PTV as we do. and if one game doesnt suit or the scores blow out . you can simply change the channel.

R1 - 7 matches (half an hour off having 8)
R2 - 7 matches (half an hour off having 8)
R3 - 9 matches
R4 - 7m
R5 - 6m
R6 - 7m
R7 - 6m
r8 - 6m
R9 - 6m
R10 - 6m

And for any matches that have overlap they get extra fta, also some that don't. How many would be watching more than 6 or 7 matches a week?

God your a winger LOL's

And a very bad loser
other than the terrible spelling in this post I have no idea what you're talking about
You have no idea :hmm: I never would have thought that
Australia's number 1 sport RUGBY LEAGUE. Preferred by more Australians than any other

i don't think you can compare last year to this year many reasons why..
yes the game was shorter adding to slightly to figure.. but i would put other factors ahead of it.
which has been discussed in past.

i think the telecast would thin out from shorter format to original in blow out scores, as people than tune out.

Pal, this thread is about ratings. That's why we talk ratings. We don't talk about which code is worth more. We don't talk about SOO or RL internationals. We don't talk about scheduling. It's about ratings FFS.

What part of this can you not understand pal??????? I have made a thread for all the other BS. Please post it there!!!

oh come on. We dominate TH and FN top 10 and you know it, and that'll be even moreso by year's end. Single game v single game where the entire country can watch is the only logical comparison. The only reason the NRL can claim to be a competitor is concurrent scheduling, we have games just after 1pm, and we have less fans subscribing to pay TV.
you dominate metro ratings for 2 out of 9 games played ( when you play thursdays )
we bring back that domination in the ratings in those games by vastly superior foxtel & kayo ratings & better regional ratings .. final result most FN & TN's is a win by 50 to 75K each game
domination... nuh
barely winning

the other 7 you play

you get reamed
murderded ... by our 6 games

more recently our 6 games have been slaughtering your 8 games despite 5 of our 6 games , being on pay TV where only 40 % of fans can watch them while almost every fumbler having access somewhere to your 8 games on FTA

it isn't even a contest anymore
ok, getting somewhere noe. So Dave, why is it we win most TH and FR games but not the weekend? What's the difference?
the barely existent difference ?
your match ups against ours in 2021 certainly ... awful NRL games being scheduled , & the cellar dwellar position of the Broncos
QLD is still a ratings wasteland for the NRL atm
the Broncos have played on either FN or TN in 9 of the first 11 weeks

anything else you need help with

well what a stupid question 8-[
where would win begin       :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

Broncos don't play every TH and FR night. Have a look at pussycats list. The AFL dominate the top 10. Clearly this shows our individual games generally rate better.

Why doesn't that happen for games on the weekend?
