Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
And also, given the limited access on FTA does this account for the high subscription to Fox ... and this fox ratings being good. I know I get fox for the AFL on the Gold Coast cause they always show the Suns or lions game on fta which is annoying at times.

So we did rate higher? Good to know Terry. As you were mateTerry wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:03 pmThanks pal! But you don't seem to have comprehended the meaning of my beautifully constructed post. I was talking Fox. It's a different platform to FTA my friend. A little research and you will hopefully be cognisant of the facts. Good luck!!!!NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 6:17 pmTerry, I think 472k is the highest of all those numbers, correct? Isnt that the AFL? Hope that helpsTerry wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 5:55 pm
Wow!!! Incredible numbers for RL on Fox. And Incredibly bad numbers for the AFL. Looks like the supposed 'booming' participation for the fumblers in Sydney isn't showing up in TV numbers.
In the unlikely event the participation numbers are anywhere near as reported it would seem they a mirroring the soccer experience. Kid's have a bit of kick and giggle and then go home and watch a real sport..................RUGBY LEAGUE!!!!
And also..............RL has no FTA on Saturday nights. If it did it would smash your fumbling game in totals without question, even with one less game, every single year. (Yes, a fault of the NRL for not negotiating a Saturday night FTA game. Hopefully that will be rectified in the next broadcast deal).
Have a great night pal and I hope this has been helpful in your understanding of this matter.

Lack of interet is the one true reason that AFL is less popular on Fox, Kayo and social media!NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 1:38 pmThere are a number of factors:leeroy*NRL* wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 12:42 pmeven if you combine the two games together,NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 12:38 pm
as bad as your spelling and grammar?
It's almost like all 4 of the AFL's games yesterday were shown directly against another AFL game
they both hit around 200k on FOX
all this with 4 different teams
- longer telecast lowers the average. Even the media were suggesting the AFL's increase in ratings last year was partly due to the shorter game length
- games are also on FTA whereas NRL games are exclusively on Fox
- the AFL is popular on TV overall, but less so on Fox. You only have to look at our FN ratings, where we can rate around 1mil but barely get 200k on Fox, to see AFL fans don't use foxtel to watch their sport in anywhere near the same proportion as NRL fans. Whether it's the fact NRL was well entrenched on pay TV well before AFL, or that AFL is more available for home teams on FTA, the difference is clear
You've rated over 1m twice this year, which will be perhaps, the amount of times you rate over 3m also!
The Nrl/AFL gap on PTV is increasing!
The Broncos are on FTA 80% of the time. How often would someone from NZ get Foxtel?
Your excuses are just that , excuses for a very lame sport/cult!
And you ratings have been getting poorer for years. If they did increase last year it was because more matches were shown in prime time.
Australia's number 1 sport RUGBY LEAGUE. Preferred by more Australians than any other

Haven't added it up pal. But if you didn't win with your free to air component on a Saturday night you're in big trouble. Which you are. The end of the round totals and averages are the benchmark.NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:52 pmSo we did rate higher? Good to know Terry. I agree longer telecast declines slightly.. especially if there is thrashings.NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 1:38 pmThere are a number of factors:leeroy*NRL* wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 12:42 pmeven if you combine the two games together,NlolRL wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 12:38 pm

AFL is better promoted on FTA nationally more so than the NRL which helps (agree)

not reallyFred wrote: Sun Apr 18, 2021 7:46 pmIf it was to rate so high wouldn’t nine want to pay big time for it ?
FTA can only make so much from Rugby League Telecasts due to way less advertising opportunities
there is only so high they will go, With FOX coming in over the top, as they can charge.
as you see NRL On Fox is increasing.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Not great numbers.
And on Pay TV for RL - there is a balance required there with being on FTA and cashing in on PAY TV money. Worst thing that any code can do is go solely to Pay TV--- Look at Rugby Union at their height going purely to PAY - killed the sport here.
