And most other states 4 or 5 games.

compared to the NRL 3 nationally..

AFL win, but NRL did amazing to get close.

if you take into account the few points without brushing them off.
Imagine if Brisbane got all NRL games on TV before 4pm, and none in prime time. What about some games before 12pm? How much would that impact their ratings? That's what Perth gets at this time of year.
They just keep coming =D and coming.
What does? Your dribble?

Terry wrote: Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:01 pm Where did you get 60k from Wookie. We are comparing R1 in both codes. I make the difference 15k. Which the current trends in streaming show the NRL will easily make up.
Sorry, that was the weekend not R1 v R1.

AFL R1 average 503,000
NRL R1 average 480.000
difference 23,000

"current trends in streaming" - you've got a single match data point this season. Like winning 1 in a row.

Last season the AFL average for streaming was higher over a half dozen data points for each code.

Yes, half a dozen cherry picked results. I recall finding a couple of others and they were very much in the NRL favour. Just like the ones fox announced this year.

Kayo for several weeks released the streaming ratings for the top rating game in each round. Some in the AFLs favour, some in the AFLs favour - but the average of those results was to the AFLs advantage.

and the "ones" was one. One result. Not a trend. One.

Adelaide v Geelong was the number two game of the round with an average audience of 335,000 and the highest rating clash for this fixture since 2016.
Saturday night’s Essendon v Hawthorn and Brisbane v Sydney games had a cumulative audience of 365,000, up 15% on the cumulative audience of Round 1 Saturday night in 2019 (Bulldogs v Sydney and Brisbane v West Coast) and up 46% on Round 1 Saturday night last year (GWS v Geelong and Gold Coast v Port Adelaide).

based on this and the information from NRL round 1 -

* for round 1 the NRL rated 116k average on Stream and 372k average on Fox overall.
* for round 1 the AFL rated 84k average on Stream and 238k average on Fox overall.

Points to the NRL. Well done.

Not bad numbers (not great) for Sydney and Brisbane considering no local team and in NRL heartland. Perth is disappointing but get the whole time thing - Perth also disappointing.

Those ratings have gotta be disappointing!!! Once Kayo is counted the NRL will get very very close. But these are the ones the AFL has gotta win easily. Not a good start for the fumbling game on top of losing the R1 comparison!!!!

Yeah not great ratings for what was a decent game. Basically getting stuff all from Perth although hardly surprising given 4pm thursday isn't a time when sport usually rates well
