Has the Victorian lock down eased at all?
just a tad , no question this contributed about 500K to the AFLs ratings from Vic over the 4 games
Similarly , QLDs NRL teams horror season was quite detrimental to the NRL's
oh, no doubt...

What about the AFL ratings up significantly in pretty much every state? What about the NRL ratings tanking?

Every state with the exception of Perth and Adelaide and Sydney .

But you should then have a bump in NSW ratings due to more NSW teams in the finals. Fact is the AFL finals ratings are way up while the NRL's are way down

one more team lol

AFL up due to lockdown
NRL down due to QLD

end of
thanks RaiderDave. However, again, lockdown is in a single state, yet AFL ratings are up in every state.

Fail
whos raiderdave ?
and the lockdown accounts for 50% of the AFLs states population
huge factor because Vic gains would easily wipe out all the gains in all the other states .......

as is QLD contributing zlich to the NRLs which is unusual

the drop in the NRL came mainly from QLD

nothing more need be said

so if a good proportion of NRL fans aren’t watching broadcast games Because their teams are not playing it doesn’t count if AFL wins the ratings because their fans are....yes that’s logical...

I'll type slow so you can keep up
an NRL fan whos team isn't in the finals is not locked down , not restricted with where he or she can go , is not as likely to watch games &
we're missing some monster clubs in our finals too , Brisbane .. Bulldogs . Tigers & Dragons to name a few

what the AFL is getting is most of its fans in Vic regardless of who they follow watching .... because theres nothing else to do when you're locked down.

huge factor

finals are in the evening meaning most people are home no matter what the state. Ratings for other programs like the news show this because they rate similar to last year. The AFL is also missing large Melbourne clubs like Hawthorn, Essendon and Carlton

Your attempt to explain poor NRL ratings is very funny

They are if there in lock down states. However a fair % of NSW viewers would be watching from pubs, clubs , eateries and other non rating venues.

There is quiet a bit of rivalry between Qld and NSW . Games between the two generally pull more viewers, Brisbane especially.

And Qld viewers don't like to watch matches that don't involve Qld team. However once the Broncos start to win again the Lions will return to obscurity!
