Are the AFL about to give two clubs the boot????

Post by Terry »

Respected AFL journalist Caroline Wilson & some powerful club bosses seems to think the Suns and GWS should get punted from the comp due to financial strain caused by C-19.

Interestingly she lampoons loud mouth Suns boss Tony Cochrane who regularly screeches that a 9th game brings the game $50M extra per year. "Not only was that an outrageously generous assessment in the context of pre-coronavirus but also wildly out of the ballpark in the view of the AFL's media partners", she quite sensibly said!!! Plus, "broadcasters say the incremental value of the ninth game is not worth much at all". Very true!!!!

I wonder if the AFL would like PVL to step in and give 'em a hand! I mean he already runs two of the biggest sports organisations in the land. I'm sure he could handle a third & save the Suns and the Ginats!!

would be hard to see the AFL funding AFL clubs like they use to.

Standby for the AFL's extended tv deal..

this could be the detail to how the 18 clubs go into the future..

If the AFL continue with the handouts that $600m loan wont last long.
