The NRL is in talks with ESPN , regarding showing the game in America. ESPN has little sport on TV at the moment due to the virus.

Hopefully this will lead to another arse kicking for the AFL

ESPN executives have told the NRL there is a strong appetite to open discussions when the code is ready to negotiate its next television rights deal for 2023 and beyond - which was meant to be later this year.

Just read that. Very interesting. Even if they don't get any RL the fact they're talking will put pressure on Fox to stump up more $$$$$$.

Unfortunately though the article also said they won't be able to show any RL immediately due to existing contracts with Fox.

How do you think that rl is most popular ? Are you basing this solely on ratings? Just curious. I think you just say it to troll but was genuinely interested.

the raw number that the league loons hinge their hops on, and they still earn less in the boardcast deal and sponsorship dollar :\:
Australian sporting sponsorship
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

I've told Freddy before. He needs to print out his posts & the replies given and put 'em on the fridge. Then every time he has an idea or question or query go back and check his fridge. And as sure as day follows night he will find it's all been answered before. Wouldn't that save a lotta time?

Poor bugger must have short and long term memory problems lolololololol!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think you are wrong. Definitely wring. I explained why you are wrong so maybe you need to fridge magnet ? But I’ll write slowly. Ratings...... 1 measure ... means most watched on tv. .... not most popular. When the game of rl virtually does not exist outside nsw and qld can’t see how it is most popular. I mean you are at a stretch to find a junior or senior club ... even a league in large parts of Victoria, Sa, tassie and wa.

Been off the juice for about 5 weeks now. Just decided to stop one day. I’m sure I’ll have another socially but casual drinking I think I’m over it. Too hot for red up here. Like a nice Pinot from Yarra valley (Yearing Station) even got Pinot glasses which are a bit of a wank. Was drinking Islay whiskey as like the peat smoke flavour.

Anyway... I came in here to post about this

NRL season 2020 return date: Brad Hazzard, Health Minister response
Health Minister Brad Hazzard has revealed the NSW Government has not given the NRL clearance to restart its 2020 season — and hasn’t had any official communication with the code for four weeks.
The Federal Government and Queensland Government have also spoken out to pull the NRL back into line with revelations the code has not received any special exemptions from coronavirus restrictions.
The extraordinary slap down comes after the NRL’s innovation committee on Thursday announced the third round of the season will proceed in seven weeks time on May 28.

Unbelievable ... surely you’d have to agree.
