That doesn't make sense Crapper - think about it logically (well try) from a business perspective. You want to grow a product - where do you go to grow it - to somewhere where it is already selling in spades and the dominant product if not the only real product - or do you look to a new market with huge growth potential. It is as simple as that. And whilst Western Sydney may not have asked for it - the Gold Coast has a strong Australian Rules culture and is the second sport already here and lots of people wanted a team. People still attend the footy on the Gold Coast in same numbers for many NRL games and they out draw the Titans.

People in tassie with they small population they have are geography spread out There isn’t much growth nor much of an economy.
Hawthorn and kangaroos playing home games there are like when nrl teams and league sells marquee games for the influx of money they bring in
GWS and gcs are all based in high population growth areas tastier is not one of those! The local economy cannot Afford a team!
It’s as simple as that

You don’t think the AFL would have explored the financial feasibility and found that would have been the largest factorleeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 5:12 pmI get that...

Re: Tassie, here we come....
of course they would of,
Tassie can still support a team no doubt about it..
but the AFL wants to be bigger so they want to expand in bigger areas.
which will bring in more money, grassroots, fans, sponsors.

No! Not now or future as the growth in Tassie isn’t, hasn’t been thereleeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 10:22 amof course they would of,

i am saying if they wanted to TASSIE could support an AFL TEAM
it would get 20k plus crowds week in week out.
sponsors on board
government support..
(it just would not meet the AFL standards as they want to grow the PIE)

Tassie could not support a team not now or future. As the growth isn’t there
It’s like state governorships paying for soo events as it brings in money for the weekend and showcases the state.
It a team there full time and it wouldt work

Re: Tassie, here we come....
I think there will be a Tassie team in future and AFL can bank role this easily if need be. And I do think there would be a need. I think for the footprint point of view more than anything.
