Not Really Logical
There are lies, damn lies and then there are ratings.
Rugby league, Australias most popular game in some of North Eastern Australia.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Here in Sydney it's clear rugby still has visable grassroots presence. Anglofl games are harder to find. Participation number of 1.5 million is obviously fake. Being located here it really becomes clear.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
I just showed that the Sydney private schools are starting a girls competition ... this after Australian Rules was seen to be growing for the boys in private school in apparent response to fledgling ru numbers

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
One need only to look objectively at the amount of leagues and teams there are now compared to 10 years ago to see the obvious growth. There a whole new women’s comp for starters.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Cricket numbers similar to those boasted by anglofl were exposed this week & that is a national sport & non contact. Figures provided are rubbish, particularly supposed growth - take it from somebody actually in Sydney.notaleaguefan wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 12:34 pmThe world is bigger than your little football field thickshitAngloFootballLeague wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 11:08 amHere in Sydney it's clear rugby still has visable grassroots presence. Melbourne Storm get good crowds too, but I don't assume they're taking over. I look at TV ratings & things like media coverage. Anglofl insulars can't seem to make this connection.Quolls2019 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 11:18 amjust follow the Sydney Swans crowds, they are easy to find.

Here’s what you do. Look at the amount of teams, leagues and competitions 10 years ago and compare them to today. As I said, there is a whole new girls/womens competition. At various levels when there was none ... GROWTH

The Storm have good crowds for NRL, not for AFL in Vic.AngloFootballLeague wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 1:05 pmMelbourne Storm get good crowds too, but I don't assume they're taking over. Their home games are up this year, the away games are way down, suppose there is a reason.
If some Melbourne clubs didn’t play away from home, Storm would be a bit further away.
I don’t think AFL is taking over in Sydney, I still hold the view that the Swans are the most popular football team there.

I don’t think anyone has proclaimed Australian Rules is taking over Sydney. What has been said is there has been growth for Australian Rules in Sydney.

Re: Fight Club - Football Crowds
Swans get biggest crowds, but looking at TV ratings there is not wide spread support. If you lived in Sydney you would know the Swans are considered the team of elite society. Swans game like the opera; place for rich white people to network & be seen.Quolls2019 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 5:44 pmThe Storm have good crowds for NRL, not for AFL in Vic.AngloFootballLeague wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 1:05 pmMelbourne Storm get good crowds too, but I don't assume they're taking over.
