I wonder if it comes down to who you work with. When first here I was working with people not much into sport or not from qld/nsw so there was little hype although there was in the community /tv/ papers. Then I changed work and there was one lady who was made broncos /qld and she would organise the fun around origin ... streamers, dress up days in team colours etc. she had gone along with a few others and there isn’t any celebration at work. And whilst still big in the media the hype seems to me to have died off but I am guessing maybe I’m just used to it more.

yeah def comes down to the group or work place you work with.. like many things sport..
to get the buzz of sporting contest..

I would also say NSW media is more balanced in reporting.. on the Origin teams than QLD is..
QLD show little of the Blues compared to NSW reporting of the maroons.

From service stations, pubs, bars and bbqs people dress up in the colours and head out to functions

Woman in general love getting dressed up and be in the occasion. Talk most of the people and they will have less interest than me of the game more the social side of things
