Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
regarding Internationals When Australia Plays they average around the 1.5mill mark during the season.
and for finals in Australia for events are close to the 1.8 - 2 million mark.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Why i get your point... Collingwood Game would out rate a Suns game...
The supporters of the game can always watch this game on FOX FOOTY...
While have a think about NRL fans That have 5 exclusive games on FOX
and that there is only 3 Titans games on FTA this year...

but it is a decrease in ratings overall if more would watch the collingwood game on FTA.leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:15 amWhy i get your point... Collingwood Game would out rate a Suns game...

Targteting home markets doesn't always result in higher ratings. EG: Fremantle v Suns shown in Perth on FTA while Crows v Collingwood is also playing and more interesting to non-freo fans.
Have you got any examples of Brisbane's FTA ratings when the Titans are playing?

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Is this what happens every year?
I look forward to watching this play out, seeing how the narrative changes around SOO.
All these "but, but buts" and this brainwashed fishbowl commentary.... seems to only be coming from the leaguies.
Unfortunately Crapper still seems the brightest of you lot so early signs aren't good.

Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
AFL basically rate more for every round but the NRL come back to be ahead because 1. they have more rounds, and 2. they include SOO which rates about 10mil for 3 games.Cats_Steve wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:37 am Is this what happens every year?

When we say SOO isnt NRL they say "but it's RL, and it shows RL is number one". We then say, well if you're going to include all ratings for RL then you should also inlude all Aussie rules ratings such as state league, preseason, woman's etc.
Happens every year.
NRL v AFL competitions is the obvious comparison but they dont like that

That is correct, targeting home markets do not always get higher ratings..NlolRL wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:33 ambut it is a decrease in ratings overall if more would watch the collingwood game on FTA.leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:15 amWhy i get your point... this is the case for 3 AFL teams
LIONS
SUNS
GWS
SWANS usually draw 10-20k higher on AVG than other games..
(Titans games when shown on FTA) rate actually pretty good in QLD>
but not so much in NSW
they generally would rate over 120k-150k when played on FTA in Metro .. do not have regionals ..
this is where the AFL style of Tv Deal would work great>>
LIVE IN QLD for Titans games, but on FOX Australia wide.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Bigger games rate higher in Qld than the suns or sometimes even the lions. I agree with the Swans, but over a year that'll be maybe 23 times 20k extra, or 500k more?leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 10:43 amThat is correct, targeting home markets do not always get higher ratings..NlolRL wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:33 ambut it is a decrease in ratings overall if more would watch the collingwood game on FTA.leeroy*NRL* wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 9:15 am

Got examples of Titans ratings? I doubt they rate much more than non-Brisbane games but Im happy to be shown otherwise. As far as Im aware GC is considered part of Brisbane for ratings so regionals wouldnt be higher

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Projections are just that though aren't they. Do your projections show that the AFL will be getting, not 51/2 not even 4 1/2 but just 3 1/2 matches on FTA each week (pretty much) from now on? Not a lot more than what we get. Does your projections take into account rep football? Or the 10 or 12 million it brings with it. ????????????????????. What about the NRL's final round, and the extra 3 or 4 million it will bring ??????????????????? You currently lead by about 2million. Do you think you will get enough????SportCapital wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 5:50 am Almost 14mil lead in the projection.
For the well being of our northern counterparts I hope SOO do something special this year.
It's fast becoming a very large gap to bridge.
10mil might not cut it this year.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
What about AFL Finals which have massively outrated NRL ones in recent years. What about the AFL preseason and AflW? I mean if we start counting "rugby league" ie. Origin, Tests and preseason...what about SANFL, WAFL, and VFL broadcasts - I can tell you now all 3 outright the Intrust Cup in Queensland, which i also have figures for, as opposed to NSW Cup (which is on Fox) and we dont have any figures for so far this year, although im trying to see if I can get that data too.
Theres more to this "most watched sport" shit than you let on.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Maybe it makes sense to compare NRL v AFL competitions only, then a separate comparison of Australian Rules Football ratings outside AFL v RL ratings outside NRL? These could include Daly M, brownlow, footy shows, SOO, internationals, State competition etcThe_Wookie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 11:38 am What about AFL Finals which have massively outrated NRL ones in recent years. Of course Wookie. There are nuances and interpretations that can be twisted and turned in many different ways.The_Wookie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 11:38 am What about AFL Finals which have massively outrated NRL ones in recent years. Unsurprisingly I believe my method, beatifically enunciated on previous occasions, is the best: Count both domestic seasons, finals and GF's. The AFL have more games played in their season. I believe this year it will be 6?? RL adds in SOO and internationals to make the number of games equal. Voila........simple, fair, comonsense!!!! Count ratings for the elite games only.
Of course then there is the matter of NZ ratings. In previous years you have added them in separately & given a total for the NRL both with and without them. That's the way to do it. The punter can choose if they..... you know......strike them in.....or strike them out.....we know how that's gonna work out. Once again .......simple, fair & commonsense.
So there ya have it!!! No more correspondence needed!!!! Bewdy!!!!!!

So you count the sport vs the national comp. Of course you think that's fairTerry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 12:03 pmOf course Wookie. You'll have to explain this pal. It's kind of unintelligible. Please re-word it and I will respond.NlolRL wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 12:14 pmSo you count the sport vs the national comp. You think it's reasonable to count the AFL competition only vs the NRL competition plus games that arent part of the NRL competition

The rep games are a party of the Rugby League season. For Nearly 10 weeks the best 40 players are not available or are backing up after a few days .
Rugby League doesn't have to put its eggs in one basket they have options. That's what makes them Australia's most POPULAR sport.
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!
