AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
So we keep getting told AFL is a game of skill when you can
-drop the ball as much as you like
-play on with your foot on the outside boundary line
-awarding points for missing
-giving people a shot at goal if they actually catch a ball
-removing crossbars to make it easier to score
But now I have heard a new one. If you hit the post when you take a shot at goal. It is counted as a point
The easiest scoring and most poorly skilled game on the planet. AFL proudly rewarding poor skills for a 100 years

Everything I said is true and now your getting all upset because of that.
Now tell me, if you take a shot at goal and the ball bounces off one of the middle uprights. Do you still a point?

Is not my fault you follow a game with the stupidest rules on the planet.
Take a shot at goal and still get a point when it hits the post.

But AFL awards a point if the ball bounces off one of the middle posts and does not go in.
This is never points in any other sport.

Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
I know its beyond your comprehension but in a high scoring game like AFL where scores are regularly over 100 points, a point is a very minor reward, so much so its actually seen as a penalty because it gives possession back to the opponents. If we allowed goals when the ball hits the post and goes between the posts that would be an unfair reward for mediocrity. The NRL allow that dont they lol

Yes it is beyond my comprehension that you get a point if the ball bounces off the upright post back into play.NlolRL wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 2:02 pmI know its beyond your comprehension but in a high scoring game like AFL where scores are regularly over 100 points, a point is a very minor reward, so much so its actually seen as a penalty because it gives possession back to the opponents. There is no points reward in any other football code I know of for hitting the post and not going in.

Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
Iβd really like to see Wookie and any of the other Afl laddettes in here try and βget over a line the width of the field to scoreβ on any rugby league field in nsw where any division six local community club team is defending it
LETS just be honest, I think we can all safely agree that given the opportunity in front of them Wookie and his Afl co would be seen screaming in high pitched yelps running the opposite direction and out of he ground.

Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
so if a player hits the post, it bounced back in to play and he then kicked a goal isnt that a greater reward for missing? A single point in a game where scores are routinely over 100 is not a reward, it's a miss where the opposition are given possession. Keeping the ball in play allows a greater chance of kicking a goal.NRL&NFLweLaughATafl wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 4:34 pmYes it is beyond my comprehension that you get a point if the ball bounces off the upright post back into play.NlolRL wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 2:02 pmI know its beyond your comprehension but in a high scoring game like AFL where scores are regularly over 100 points, a point is a very minor reward, so much so its actually seen as a penalty because it gives possession back to the opponents. Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
that was when players could kick straight nlol. Scores over 100 are hardly βroutineβ anymore nlol. Theyβre more like the exception to the norm, a fairly rare occurance.βnlolβ wrote:scores are routinely over 100
I think youβll find weβve seen the over 100 scores drop markedly since the afls bungled expansion into the Gold Coast and western Sydney. So please, just for accuracy and to keep things current, donβt suggest your boys are routinely kicking scores over 100...because they donβt.
Warmest regards,
King

Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
which doesnt make either way right or wrong. In Soccer you can hit the post, it bounces straight back to you, and then you can kick the goal. In AFL you dont get that second chance to score goalNRL&NFLweLaughATafl wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 4:34 pmYes it is beyond my comprehension that you get a point if the ball bounces off the upright post back into play.NlolRL wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 2:02 pmI know its beyond your comprehension but in a high scoring game like AFL where scores are regularly over 100 points, a point is a very minor reward, so much so its actually seen as a penalty because it gives possession back to the opponents. Re: AFL even awards a point if you hit the post
it highlights that the ease of scoring isn't the main issue. This is because 1. there is the defense you need to beat, as you say, and 2. it's about outscoring your opponent, not just scoringleeroy*NRL* wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 5:15 pmit is actually quite hard to get across the Line>>The_Wookie wrote: βMon Mar 25, 2019 2:22 pmYeah but i mean its cool if you have a scoring section thats the entire width of the field and you just need to fall over it to score.

Yet NRLandNFL is just stuck on the ease of scoring in the AFL and cant see past it
