There's a massive difference between a crowd for a big game & the tv audience .

The crowd is about 1/30 to 1/40 th of the actual people watching
You sell out a game wether 80 or 100k capacity then that leaves a lot of Australians who's only other choice is to watch on tv .
That makes tv viewing a far more accurate measure of how big it is .
& SOO wins .

and Ch7 are trying to do everything they can to get the AFL to move the GF to prime time to increase ratings. There are more people at home in the evening which will always mean it rates higher. The SOO was only a few % higher in ratings last year which would easily be covered by a prime time AFL GF
