Canadians like Rugby League a lot more than Chinese like AFL.

Which is the best football code? Here you can have it out with other football fans.

Where am I backtracking?
Your now agreeing that AFL in China is a waste of time and money. But in the past you were talking it up and defending it under your numerous accounts. #backflip

As for the sport of Gridiron, you keep putting your head in the sand with it's success in other countries. It is played in two countries much bigger than Australia (USA & Canada) And is getting sellouts in London. There would'nt be talk of putting a team there if there wasn't interest.

AFL can't even get a sellout outside Australia or interest from other countries. Not even a team outside Australia.

Big difference.

In other words even Gridiron smashes Aussie Rules with international success. Is not a even a debate lol.. =D =D

The AFL isnt even trying. Even the China thing isnt really an effort to promote or expand the game there as it is an exercise in trying to get sponsor dollars here.

Actual AFL expenditure on promotion overseas is fuck all.
At least that's the line they run with after they dismally fail to get any attention each year. What was sponsorship dollars were they hoping to win in New Zealand?
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

wrong. I think you are mistaking me for NRLolol.

I am not ignoring it, I'm putting that expansion into context given the size of the USA, the influence they have world-wide, the interest in gridiron on the TV world-wide, and the close proximity of Canada. It only further shows how hard it is to start a professional competition in new markets.
AFL can't even get a sellout outside Australia or interest from other countries. Not even a team outside Australia.
yes, we are far smaller, and far less influential than the USA, plus we have no land-based neighbour.

In other words even Gridiron smashes Aussie Rules with international success. Is not a even a debate lol.. =D =D
Of course it does, and so should it given the points I raised above. I only use this example to show how hard it is to expand, even for massive sports

Very true and if it did get massive crowds and plenty of good exposure, we wouldn't be hearing the end of it.

He thinks Union advantages League in growth lol.. When in actual fact it is the total opposite.

How does a code that steals players, bans RL as a sport in Schools, advantage Rugby League.

of course. It's just a coincidence that RL is popular in every country where RU is popular, except PNG. All just a massive  coincidence...

Well RL has far more international presence than derpball so yeh it's worked a treat .
& brawls are a rarity these days .
So you get one unco point for being useless
if international presence is based on excitement of the game then soccer is the most exciting game in the world.

Clearly it isnt
You obviously have never seen a world cup. Also people like common sense games.

One reason AFL remains a one nation lemon. :drunk:

Is still played in 2 nations much bigger than Australia with sellouts in London too.

AFL is such a lemon they cancelled games in New Zealand early due to such low interest.

Which sport is having more success, Aussie Rules or Gridiron??

it's the biggest sport in a nation of nearly 300 million but can't get past Canada, a nation that also shares other 'Americanisms' like baseball. Even their accent is the same.

Tell me, why cant RL spread across Australia?

Excuses excuses lol.. AFL is just not an internationally marketable sport like other codes. That is the real reason.

Rugby League has had test match sellouts between Australia and NZ in Perth. With a sellout expected for Origin in Perth too.

They have gotten good crowds for big matches like Origin in Melbourne too.

The same can't be said for AFL in China or NZ

having crowds to stand alone events in other states isnt expansion, not even close. All it represents is locals who come from eastern states having an opportunity to watch a local game. Look at the ratings for the NRL in WA, SA and Vic. They rated a combined 35k for Friday's stand-alone NRL game. The NRL hasnt expanded across the only nation where it is more popular than RU. What does that tell you about expansion? over 100 years and SA and WA barely know what RL is. Most of them think RL and RU are the same game still

Oh the jealously from AFLs constant international failures.

Rugby League is a lot more than NRL.
There is a team in PNG were rugby union is non existing.

Rugby Union holds league back. So that arguement that Union helps League is something you have made up. And simply not true.

Professional teams in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, France and the UK are all done soley by League.

Show me one place outside Australia where AFL has had success??

As for those ratings, they certainly weren't from last Friday. Sounds like you made them up.
