Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Given the AFL have 27 hours of content per round to show to 5 cities over 3 time zones i think the current arrangement is about as good as they can do while still encouraging fans to attend games.
Having said that the schedule is nowhere near as ratings friendly as the NRL's

In your world how would you explain this?NlolRL wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:48 amhere's where you've gone off track:AFLcrap1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 11:22 pmThere's opinions then there's facts .

I think RL is a far better game than afl ..
Your opinion would be the opposite .
That's fine .everyone has an opinion .
An example of facts .
RL had more viewers than any other sport this year .
The numbers cannot be disputed on the data collected
There's no arguing with that unless you suffer from .....cognitive dissonance
- I have never disputed NRL gets more cumulative ratings
- In my opinion cumulative viewers does not indicate more viewers, just more chances for the same viewers to watch. This is why this metric is not used by anyone else to compare different programs, except NRL people

Are you trying to support my point? The Guardian compares averages and the others are either NRL sources or responses to NRL claims.pussycat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 2:17 pmIn your world how would you explain this?NlolRL wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:48 amhere's where you've gone off track:AFLcrap1 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 11:22 pmThere's opinions then there's facts .

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Sure why not
After all it is the only sport that could rightfully claim its AUST's national sport .
Has a huge following ( lol well when they are performing well )all across Aust from people who follow all 4 winter codes .
The national team would be supported & far more well known then other national teams .
So yeh ratings are important ...especially up. against the a league.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
So the AFL does rate better on tv than the NRL.
Would explain the bigger $$$ tv deal for the AFL too eh.
Would explain the bigger $$$ tv deal for the AFL too eh.
Rugby Australia figures showed Super Rugby matches played in Australia attracted an average audience of 71,000 last year, up nine per cent on 2017, a season that was dogged by speculation over which Australian team would be cut from the competition and by a record poor performance from the NSW Waratahs, the team representing Australia's largest fan base.
But further Oztam ratings obtained by the Herald showed that figure plummeted in the five metropolitan cities, attracting an average pay television audience of just 50,000, which was less than the A-League's 51,000 and a fraction of the NRL's 164,000 and AFL's 167,000.

NRL is King in Regional areas
and these areas are only growing...
As at June 2017, 32.7% of Australia’s population (a little over 8 million people) resided outside greater capital city areas and 28.2% lived outside major cities.

Despite common misconceptions, the population of regional Australia is rising. Between 2007 and 2017, the population outside of Australia's major cities grew by 10.6%. The ABS projects that the population outside capital cities will grow by 26% between 2007 and 2026.
