I think the titans will win the crowd battle this year. The thums are in rapid decline, they’re dead in the water and the AFL exec don’t seem to have the foggiest to what they can do about it. Suns should start playing in Darwin and transition there by 2022 with a name change to ‘lightning’ or ‘cyclones’.

Does anyone have any of the thuns numbers when it comes to tv viewers on the GC or more broadly in qld? I get the feeling it’d be disastrously low

they were showed on FTA for 22 games last year..
they literally ranged between (not being recorded as it was too low and 20k)
the Lions were a touch better..
FOX figures were also bad depending on who they actually played...

there Home Games crwods were also lifted by away teams
which looked like RIchmond / Collingwood / Carlton were playing at home

They keep ignoring this!
As well as the fact the titans had some 40 odd million dollars of debt and were about to be shut down buy asic
They were booted from their Center of excellence due not being able to pay the rent and were closing stands odd during game day, due to crap crowds and not being able to afford to open them! In a stadium they helped design and the Qld government paid and built for them!

The titans train as a local school and administration office is shared with one of the local councils on the Gold Coast!

Yet the league loonies ignore all this and just rubbish the suns despite have similar crowd numbers and more members than the titans

The excuses for lower attendances for the NRL in Sydney is traffic, poor stadia, too hot, too cold, too wet, too many other things to do etc etc

Yet the conditions on the GC are similar for travelling NRL and AFL fans. Why do the AFL fans travel to attend on the GC and the NRL wont?
