I would say, they are trying to make it a BIG EVENT>>
in Melbourne

with some of the top 100 players on board..
seems to me the AFL are making a good go of it..

and have went away from the mega failed experiment which was last AFLX

they are putting an effort into creating interest in a modified version that they then may attempt to introduce into new markets because it doesnt require 36 players and a huge oval.

This doesnt mean they believe it's a hit

the clubs are the ones who refused to let players play SOO because they didnt want their stars injured through the season in meaningless matches.

This is preseason so unless they suffer a serious injury it shouldnt effect the main season
