You’re such a deceiving troll. I’m watching game on tv now and like all games at Spotless Stadium the majority or crowd/members are on the non tv side and opposite end to the pic you’ve produced. Your pic, as those informed know, clearly demonstrates how fans avoid that end as they are exposed to the elements.

Now no one was expecting a huge crowd today based on the Suns being the opponents and the weather in Sydney being cold and miserable with more rain expected. That said, to suggest as you have a crowd of 300 is as I say deceitful. Pathetic really.

In any case, the crowd sounds loud every goal the Giants kick. Good on the fans that rocked up today, their team is doing them proud.

Mclachlan needs to do more work on the expansion clubs and make them more successful on and off the field to earn his $1.7 million salary. The AFL he has shown gross incompetence in developing and sustaining successful new expansion clubs. In Queensland AFL fooball is in crisis and needs solutions now to ensure a competative teams.
I have outline 3 issues below which need to be addressed by mclachlan.
Gold coast suns have become nothing but a nursury for new recruits to be developed and then cherry picked by stronger established clubs. Mclachlan wont acknowledge this, response is zero.
Brisbane bears merged with melbourne club fitzroy, changed name and lost thousands of local fans. Although the club won 3 flags they were not seen as a club exclusive to Brisbane but a merged entity, the brisbane fitzroy lions. A lot of the flag momentum dissapated, today the lions appeal only a tiny niche market thats getting smaller. The Bears had Brisbane to themselves once but failed to get AFL support when it mattered. They could have and should have been huge.
Bring back the Brisbane bears, that name is marketing gold. I am a former angry Brisbane bears supporter so my opinion is biased.
Finally GWS, I like this club, great list of players that exhibit a thrilling brand of football despite the current trend in congested play.
Unfortunately GWS are burdened by a poor choice of moniker, it just does not quite cut it, ( wanderers moniker also poor ) and this is why crowds and support for this club is limited. People love monikers such as magpies, swans eagles etc, GWS will one day have to change to a more marketable lovable name if they are to generate huge support in sydney. If and when they do this GWS will be a very successful club. Canberra - GWS should form part of their new name as crowds and support in Canberra has been strong, have a second base in Canberra and capitalize on this well needed support.
Why is not Mclachlan coming forward with similar ideas ? I think mclachlan is in denial about the shortcomings of expansion clubs, please fix these issues and earn your $ 1.7 million.
If in later years if GWS do become huge in Sydney in their present form I will gladly admit that my statement above was wrong.

Well it looks like my predictions were all a tad high lolololololololololol. I'd say the actual crowd was 1.5k. The AFL announced a crowd of over 7k lolololololololololololol. The bloke who announced it was wearing a yellow spotted red suit, had a red nose and was wearing size 38 purple coloured shoes lolololololol The paying crowd would have been a few hundred at best!!!!!

Social media went into a laughing induced meltdown when the crowd was announced.

How about the claim that 7000 people were there? Be closer to 700 than 7000.
Time to pack up the Gold Coast franchise and move it to Tassie. Not the players, just the franchise.

Talk about the irrelevant v the embarrassment. The GWS v Suns game sums it up perfectly. Andrew Demetriou should and his cohorts should be charged with vandalism. Our once great game is a disgrace and I won't be holding my breath waiting for Gillon "the insipid" McLachlan to fix it up any time soon. Disgraceful!!

This is the best pic of the 'crowd' I've seen lolololololol. It was taken seconds before the teams ran out. Can anyone seriously say there were 7k there???? Tell 'em there dreaming lolololololol!!!!!
