Sydney ratings are still laughable compared to Melbourne, irrespective of the overall national ratings

They could be better. But I think more people are watching in pubs and clubs. Whatever the problem though, there certainly not down 20%

Just 6 more sleeps
even with 20% Melbourne is well ahead

For comparison purposes:

R 13 2017 NRL Friday tv ratings - 5 city 399k. Fox 209k. Regionals 249k.

R13 2018 Friday tv ratings - 5 city 367k. Fox 221k. No regionals yet.

Down 32k 5 city. Up 12k Fox. Overall down 20k but with regionals to come we will have either a small decrease or a small increase.

For further comparison the AFL last night will be down a catastrophic 350k when compared to last year. OUCH!!!!!!!

So here's we go again
The usual afl gloat around SOO time
One of the drawbacks from having the biggest sporting event in Aust is it takes some interest away from the weekly comp.
& as usual the fumblers love to point out the lower crowds & ratings in SOO affected games .
Yet when we gloat about the upside of SOO ..the best rating program of the year the but but buts start flowing .

Lol
I love SOO time of the year .
They follow the same jealous formula every year .

Doesn't matter
We will absolutely smash fumbles in the yearly ratings .
Most watched sport in Aust by a long way .

Souths 4 and Cronulla 2 . But most people have there focus on Australia's number 1 sporting event on Wednesday night.

so a combined 6 players missing from 2 clubs is enough to use as an excuse?

Soft, so very soft. You got flogged in ratings and attendance to a match involving our worst side!

Oh and Australia's number 1 sporting event should NEVER need to give tickets away for free. Ever!

The Swans only need to loose Franklin and there a basket case and were "flogged" by less than 40 or 50k.

And you would know this? How?????????????????????

The swans played an entire last 1/4 of a season and finals without buddy yet it didnt effect their crowds and ratings at all.

Try and stick to reality.

He missed 4 of 7 games at the back end of 2015(they lost most of those) and then managed 1 win in the semis that year.

Finished runners up 2014,2016.

And swans fans kept going to games when he wasnt there. Your excuses for fn given only 3 players per team were missing is pathetic

Lol yep
It's what they do
It's all they have ..cwowds cwowds cwowds .
Lol
Us Rl fans accept with no argument that AFl gets far bigger crowds .
Yet when it comes to ratings ..like this thread ..even after facts are presented to show how RL is smashing afl..you get the dumb cultists arguing it's not right ..1.5 blah blah .

Therein lies the difference between the two fan bases .

Also this is good reading .
From a MELB paper ..
