Why the AFL wanted 'Marvel Stadium'

The AFL was keen to partner with Walt Disney's Marvel brand in part to bring more kids to the football and to bring new entertainment options to its ground.

The re-naming of Etihad Stadium to Marvel Stadium will take place on September 1 in a deal that will reap the AFL, as the stadium owner, more than the current, expiring deal of an estimated $4.5-$5 million in cash (plus airline contra) annually.

we get more people to our events (we are a sporting city)

what they don't get... it's not just for NRL... yes NRL will benefit

though its for all sports and entertainment

there will be more events scheduled at Olympic Pk
than the MCG.. in 2018 year

i bet the MCG has more patrons though. That's why money spent on the MCG is justified in comparison......

HOW BAD IT IS "OLYMPIC PARK" in Sydney
and it still will have more events than the MCG

imagen if it was state of the ART stadium..

It was built in late 90s and prior to that the lesser skilled of the two rugby’s still had crap crowds

So stadiums is not the excuse
