Post by NRL&NFLweLaughATafl »

To be a proper football code you have to play on a rectangular field.

To be a real football code you only have 2 goals not 6.

Real football codes have crossbars on their goals.

Real football codes don't ever get a ball to be thrown in backwards when it goes out.

A good football code does not reward stupidity like a point for missing.

Real football codes are played professionally in more than one country. E.g Gridiron, Canada & the U.S.A.

Real footballers don't dress like netballers.

Real football codes don't have funny people doing fingure signs when you score.

A real football code never has scores in the hundreds.

So yep.. :-k I don't think AFL can be classified as a real football code.

VFL is practice for real sport. It is only a compromise. It's just a bit of kick and catch in hot-pants and singlets. Big guys aren't even allowed to tackle little guys anymore. Why do they bother selecting an Australian team when they don't play against anyone?

I not too sure of your cognitive ability to answer this,
But here goes.....
Shouldn't a "real" football code actually kick the ball more than a dozen times by half a dozen players in a game?
Most of the time less.

very well said. AFL games include around 600 kicks, where the method of passing or scoring involves the foot contacting the ball, hence the term football.

How many kicks are in an NRL game? :)))

Mate nobody plays football on a round field. And nobody has sets of 3 goals in a real football match.

AFL is just a pretend game in one country. Your not a footy code.

So a game is defined as "football" because of the shape of the ground, not based on the predominant method of passing the ball?

There is just nothing football about AFL. Should be called fumble ball or 3 goal.

Is just a clumsy mess, drop balls and scores like basketball :drunk:

Maybe its the 700 kicks per game that give it away

There are less players that kick in Rugby compared to League, so the number of 'people' kicking the ball doesn't matter. Considering Rugby is older than what is now called AFL, I think your definition of how many people or how many times the ball is kicked might be wrong.

Considering EVERY, and i mean every other football code (even Gaelic) plays on a rectangular field with a cross bar (the cross bar is the most important, the H shape of the other Football codes comes about to help asses if the ball goes over the bar BUT not wide) The cross bar is what is important. But every other code has it. So two things that every other code bar AFL has.

No other code has a Neutral put the ball back into play, they either take throw ins, lineouts (same thing really) or scrums and snaps (again roughly the same thing) or in Gaelic it is kicked in

So 3 things
Football in NSW
- Football 200,868
- AFL NSW/ACT 28,468
- Rugby League 96,041
- Rugby Union 40,685
Football has 22% more players than the other football codes combined

The games arent called rectangular field ball or crossover bar ball, theyre called football because the name suggests the major method of handling the ball is by foot.

Fuck, it aint hard to comprehend!

yet all the other codes are structured the same way, except AFL, because of cricket.
Football in NSW
- Football 200,868
- AFL NSW/ACT 28,468
- Rugby League 96,041
- Rugby Union 40,685
