So to you this ratings debate is about code is more caluable on TV overall. The ratings for individual games dont really matter?
Tez is saying, the NRL dont put all there eggs in to 1 basket>>

As your biggest game outside of finals and anzac day game is "FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL"

where as NRL they have many avenues just not FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL..

we have 23 Thursday night Football games>>

2 games on Friday>>
3 games on saturday
2 games on sunday

Internationals and REP games to worry about :)))
sorry, but this is just complete rubbish.

Friday night was Carlton v Collingwood. Both clubs have had lean season for years now. Both missed the finals last year. Both are Melbourne clubs so less appeal to interstate viewers. Sunday afternoon, not on FTA was Richmond v Hawthorn, a far more interesting game with teams that have had recent success. Swans v GWS and Geelong v eagles were also better matchups than last Friday night

That is FAR from placing all eggs in Friday night.

that is a very good point>>

the AFL for years now have had Saturdays all to themselves>>

wall to wall coverage on FTA
with home teams into home markets>>
this is a huge advantage

one which I cannot believe the NRL aloud for this to happen.
here's why you're wrong. Melbourne's AFL clubs are not consistently shown on FTA into Melbourne, jut like Sydney's NRL clubs arent shown into Sydney. This leaves each code's secondary home markets, QLD for the NRL and WA/SA for the AFL. The AFL require multiple games to target these markets because Perth and Adelaide share 4 clubs. They cant do it with a single game like the Broncos into Brisbane. The Broncos are on FTA 16 times this year, so most of their games. So the advantage of Home teams shown into home markets is no where near as significant as you guys make out

A lot of empty spaces this week but I make it 3.2m or just under. Meaning our average has dropped to 3.9. But still well and truly on gold medal pace

Yep. Comm games having a big effect on ratings. But what about the fumbling ratings? Fallen off the same cliff the W went down lololololololol. R3 Fox down 36% & metro down 10+%. Overall 1.1M+ less viewers than last year. That is staggeringly bad!!!!! It follows the first 2 rounds dropping from last year as well. AFL in CRISIS!!!!!

Clearly the ratings were effected by a competing event and 7mate telecasting, but dont concern yourself Terry, the popularity of AFL is still strong

at least with the AFL being on 7 mate>>

channel 7 advertises it frequently during the Comm Games>>>

so all those viewers watching comm games see that the AFL is on..

which at moment is getting 50% share.>>

its a great advantage and why the AFL go with this>>

Cowboys in the NRL rate brilliant but will have 11 of the 25 games on FTA only>>

where as in the AFL crows and west coast who rate really well also>> will have all games on FTA>>

in Melbourne the AFL will try and show all the melbourne big games>> not all but most.

The AFL TV guide only shows the first 11 rounds. In those rounds Melbourne has 11 of 11. How much more consistancy can you have than that?

There are about 80 NRL games on FTA. 160 Teams will take part in those matches. Brisbane make 16 appearances out of a possible 160 . point? or just more la la land stuff.
