No such stats exist - that's why I said "I'll bet".

Anyway, the real carers go to the actual matches.

Those who care will pay. Those who don't won't.

One look at the live attendances shows who cares and who doesn't.

Raider Dave is unable to handle the fact that AFL attendances exceed NRL's. Money would be no object for real lovers of the game. Looks like the real lovers of their game is AFL. The only NRL club that can claim to have fans that really love them is the Brisbane Broncos.
easy to say .... but how would anyone know
when you pay peanuts to get in :cool:

Let me see. IIRC most sporting crowds consist of 66 percent adults.

Hang on, tell me what the general admission price for adults in the NRL is.

$29 TLPG.
Thank you, Hammer.

Now then - let's compare revenue shall we, based on 66% percent of crowd aggregates as a starting point.

AFL aggregate: 4482023
NRL aggregate: 2077213

66 percent;
AFL: 2958135.1
NRL: 1370960.5

At general admission prices;
AFL: $63,008,277
NRL: $39,757,854

On that starting point, the AFL is up on the NRL by over $23 million WITH A LOWER ADMISSION PRICE!!

Incorporating memberships will take a little longer to work out, but that's a bad start for the NRL!!

I agree with Raiderdave. The State of Origin is Australia's premier sporting spectacle.

It's pretty simple really when you compare the numbers of viewers across the nation. There's just nothing that matches it bar say holding the olympics or a football world cup in the country.

Why can't you AFL supporters just get over your envy, eat some humble pie and realise how great SOO is?? :?>

What rot! Where do you get these delusions so I can avoid them? 40 percent at the most.
do the math

there are about 650K AFL members
divide that by 2 to get the amount available for weekly attendances
325k
whats the average weekly attendance for the AFL ?....288K

about 60% of memberships are full ticketed & the rest are part memberships

60% of 325K is 195K

195K out of the AFL's 288K weekly average aggregate attendance at a minimum are fully paid up members
paying a lot less then $21.30 to get in & a lot of these are kids paying about $2.50 to get in
the other 93K are other types of members & non members who pay anything from $2.50 to $21.30 for general addmission & a bit more for better seats.
gee you'd think I'd get sick of being right wouldn't you :wink: :cool:
