Yet you're still ignoring an important fact
Why do you do that .
Gb was not solely an AR player .
What can't you understand .
He was already playing a sport .
Yet you tried to make out he switched .
He didn't
He played both .

He did NOT CONVERT from AFL to RL as you tried to make out .
You don't like being caught out do you

Swino - you're on a loser on this one pal. I know GB's history very well as I went to school in the Riverina. Like most kids down there he played both RL and fumbleball at junior and school level. Once he left school he played 1st grade for Turvey Park RL - he never played a 1st grade game of fumbleball.Swans4ever wrote:Greg Brentnall played 108 games for Canturbury Bulldogs played in inaugural SOO - played for Turvey Park AFC before switching codes - your an idiot!AFLcrap1 wrote:Never played a first grade game .
Played in a trial match
That was all
Try again sarge
From memory his dad was a Gp 9 RL referee and eventually the ref's boss for many years. He was from an entrenched RL family and only played junior fumbles to hang out with some of his mates that weren't skilled enough to make it at RL.

Having said that about GB he was also a brilliant fumbleball player who used to tear the other fumblers apart with his RL skill and aggression. I think he got an offer from from a couple of fumble clubs in Melbourne but knocked them back to stick to 1st love.

So your saying (like the above) if say Rory Sloan from Adelaide was offered 1+ mil for 3 yrs to play RL for Adelaide (highly unlikely but for present purposes a suitable analogy) that he couldn't play the game???? Are you telling me with all the coaches and time and effort they would put in he would still be unable to play RL?? Seriously dude!Terry wrote:Having said that about GB he was also a brilliant fumbleball player who used to tear the other fumblers apart with his RL skill and aggression. Re: Who are the better Endurance Athletes - NRL or AFL players?
Swino, I've never heard of Rory Sloan so I wouldn't have a clue. I was just telling you about the history of GB in Wagga. In general I would be highly doubtful any top level fumbleball player could play NRL. If they haven't been conditioned to the physical contact of the game at an early age they just wouldn't cut it.Swans4ever wrote:So your saying (like the above) if say Rory Sloan from Adelaide was offered 1+ mil for 3 yrs to play RL for Adelaide (highly unlikely but for present purposes a suitable analogy) that he couldn't play the game???? Izzy Folau on the other hand - well - just read what the great coach Kelvin says about him in today's SMH. A fumbleball superstar that boy - and had never played a game before!!!!!!

Beau Ryan won against the AFL player in Ninja Warrior too.
You only have to be a good distance runner to play AFL.
No accuracy is required in AFL, as you can miss a goal and still get a point, play on if you drop the ball. Put your foot on the boundary line and play on.
When it comes to explosive strength, NRL players would knock AFLs out of the ballpark.

yeah 'cause speed has no benefit in a running game...NRL&NFLweLaughATafl wrote: Sun Mar 18, 2018 12:07 pmYou only have to be a good distance runner to play AFL.

same in RL as long as it's backwards, just like the sportplay on if you drop the ball
yet if your feet are in play and the ball over the line it's out of boundsPut your foot on the boundary line and play on.

Like I said, AFL players just don't have the same explosive power as NRL players.King-Eliagh wrote: Sun Mar 18, 2018 10:20 am

Re: Who are the better Endurance Athletes - NRL or AFL players?
Each sport has it's niche physical attributes that are required to succeed in that sport. In basketball, ball skills, height, and vertical leap are beneficial. In soccer, endurance, speed, and foot skills are beneficial. In RL/RU strength and explosive speed are beneficial. It doesnt make one sport better, or one class of athlete better

Itβs a bitter pill to swallow, but our AFL fans just have to deal with it. The poor sods

Not say so. Know so. There would be half the weight training done by players in AFL compared to NRL.NlolRL wrote: Sun Mar 18, 2018 6:47 pmyeah 'cause speed has no benefit in a running game...NRL&NFLweLaughATafl wrote: Sun Mar 18, 2018 12:07 pmYou only have to be a good distance runner to play AFL.![]()

As for dropping the ball. Tell me a football code which has more drop balls than AFL?

I guarantee you won't find one.

Also AFL has the most relaxed boundary rules of every oval ball code. Another true fact.

Male netballers are more of a fair competion for AFL I think.King-Eliagh wrote: Sun Mar 25, 2018 1:30 pmdonβt let nlols inferior blabbering fool you me members. chess is also a sport, as is cricket, as is archery. In terms of an athlete there are definitely sports which produce better athletes than others. And the nrl produces far greater athletes than the AFL. We know this because pretty much every single example and indicator tells us this is true.
