pussycat asked a valid question
but what are broadcasters paying for it

the answer

& how would I know how this 10 mill per year stacks up on top of our deal against what buggaball got ... when our deal hasn't been announced yet & won't for another 6 months at least .... you wombat

the kiwis will pay probably 15 mill a year in the next deal
thats $75 million on top of our expected billion dollar plus deal

that stacks up just fine to the AFL deal ... don't you think

I think the question is irrelevant. We have TV exposure, and that's all we need overseas given that the AFL already has $1.2 billion in the latest local TV deal. So NZ has to pay 10 million to get exposure, huh? If the AFL gets any money out of overseas coffers that's bonus material.

It seems whenever the AFL dont measure up (prety much continually), then the question or the subject is irrelevant.

Back in the eary to mid 90's when News first started up there PTV bussiness why did they chose Rugby League to spearhead there new bussiness and not AFL?. No matter what you think of these people they have some of the smartest bussiness minds on the planet working for them..and Murdoch, himself grew up in AFL heatland.

Pussycat, the local NZ AFL competition was only created in the early 90's. Murdoch respects the AFL, otherwise his precious Fox Sports wouldn't have grabbed a share of the AFL pie! Explain that, huh?

That's hardly a fair comparison, Pussycat, because the NRL have a New Zealand team. The AFL doesn't.
why

Bueasussie or whateva his name is ....wanted to big note himself about how AFL is broadcast all ova the world

pussycat asked a valid question
but what are broadcasters paying for it

the answer
well nothing ... it has no value to them , no one watches it , its just there to fill content.

NZ's sky TV pay 10 mill a year for the NRL
probably double what all those OS TV networks pay for AFL combined :\:
It's not big noting, it's a FACT. The AFL international broadcast rights have been sold all over the world to various networks. BTW, did you know that no Rugby League is shown on the Australia Network?

Oh and just to refresh your memory about the Australia Network and its audience reach.
Australia Network, Australia's international television channel, is committed to providing viewers in Asia, the Pacific and the Indian sub continent with unparalleled coverage of the AFL across the region.

Fans in more than 45 countries have the opportunity to view matches from all 24 rounds of the season, culminating in a blockbuster telecast of the Grand Final in late September.

Murdoch bought your competition because it was whoring itself for sale. LOL at all the problems that fire sale has and continues to cause your code to this day and into the future until 2016. Suckers. :(/

There is interest in New Zealand for AFL otherwise they wouldn't be showing it at all. 10 mill compares how to the BILLION dollar deal the AFL got just locally even with the NRL when they get theirs? You're the biggest clown on Talking Footy.
then answer the question put forward by pussycat

hang on .. I just did
