When you tymez it by 3 maches it would sell more tickets than the AFL Grand Final.

I am curious, will AFL ever bring back origin?
I think it could work with WA, Vic and SA.
Qld and NSW would not be competitive so would probably only work with the big 3 southern states.

I think you could get a competitive allies side from qld new nt and tassie but no I don't think you will see it in AFL. Too many good players from those allied States (if no allies team) would miss out.

Bahaha, who in their right mind would get behind a so called state team called the Allies having 3 actual states making it up and two Territories?

It'll never work. You'd probably get more people from all those states and territories combined wanting to see WA or SA beat the living shit out of Victoria than being interested in some made up all star team that represented nobody.

If AFL were to bring back SOO, didn't really work last time, my suggestion is you have a qualifying group before season starts consist of nsw (perhaps combined with act) qld, nt and tassy, play a round Robin. Top of the group team gets to advance to finals Group consist of Vic, sa and wa (the better states get to automatically advance) at the end of year. For a 4 state group 3 games a piece

Well why don't we add together the crowd and the ratings and I think you'll find more people watched the SOO than the AFL GF. Makes sense to me.

Are you comparing 3 games? (Series) vs AFL gf? Or just averaging one SOO game?

I'm curious anyone know TV ratings nationwide in the last 10 years for AFL gf and an SOO game?

Just say 100k for the AFL , though I think its usually mid to high 90's.

And Say 80k for RL.

That would mean RL has won the past few years.

wouldnt work. Too many AFL players come from NSW QLD and TAS, so excluding them would make it less relevant. A 3 way series would be pointless and SA too small in comparison

AFL outgrew SOO, for better or worse. Its ideally suited to a single strong rivalry, so a comp limited to 2 major competitors suits it perfectly, Even if the AFL had a strong SOO it wouldnt outrate the NRL. We simply cant engage our entire homeland audience in one game like the NRL do with NSW and QLD

because one is shown on Saturday arvo, a ratings dead zone, and the other in prime time mid week. They arent comparable. You only have to look at how the SOO outrates your own GF to see this

Geez you're hard work Xman. You're not satisfied with anything that isn't a win for AFL. And when it isn't you tie yourself in knots and do somersaults to manufacture something that in your biased perspective is a win.

You're kind of desperate mate. Accept the facts.
