1st I agree it was imported - it is an English game based on Union - no argument there.

2nd whilst you claim it has been used as a base and to a certain degree it has because it is the premier league in the world (NRL), NZ could hardly be claimed as an expansion zone as you claim it comes from there and not Aust. PNG I will give you but the rest no only someone with fanciful ideas who soaks up every bit of propaganda NRL HQ would believe that.

Played in every state in Aust - well you have over 10k playing outside NSW/QLD in 100 years - they had a league in the La Trobe valley that died, RL in Vic, SA and WA hasn't expanded much at all and at best have shown only slight increase. RL aside from PNG has not grown by much at all just the propaganda!!! AF however coming from when absolutely NO ONE played OS in the 80's/90's now boasts competitions in GB, France, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, USA, NZ, Naru, PNG, Sth Africa and Japan and have many country's who play tournaments against other countries. Now I'm not saying we will become the biggest by any stretch but we will get bigger so all your claims are just fantasy really!

The only thing that really affected progress in non rugby league Australian states was the superleague war of the mid 90s. It put the game back 20 years. You just have to look at current NRL games in Perth, they are consitstently good crowds.

The sport has has record growth in New Zealand and other Pacific nations while AFL is virtually non existing in these places.
More Pacific Islanders are in the NRL than ever before.

For a start there is a PNG side that play in the Cairns AFL comp which is semi professional - 2nd they have advertised in the past for players to play in UK and be paid - no I can't find the reference - and I know you'll say it is BS but I don't care as I know it happened just because you don't like it doesn't make it not so. Aside from the NRL and Superleague I couldn't find proof of players being paid elsewhere but I would assume maybe in France and the new franchise in Toronto. No doubt in some minor leagues it would be the same as AF where certain players are paid $200 or more a match . Again not something easy to locate but undoubtably so - so dispute all you want jump up and down and call me a liar but we both know this is how football is conducted in semi professional leagues in both codes.
