Isn't this the same country (and the only country) these RL cats "proudly" claim and boost about is the national sport in PNG?

With those figures who really cares about going on about PNG. All the hype for nothing

Exactly PNG is a 3rd world country with very little infrastructure and little to offer at this point - that is not to say it won't in the future but reality is not in the next 50 yrs. Indonesia is a country with 120 mil population yet it really produces little in the way of sporting achievements for the same reason. Their too busy trying to make a living.

But you haven't posted a government source. You posted an MP saying something. How hard is it for you to understand, if it was a declared National Sport it would have to come from the Parliament. Now what you have posted is an MP saying it is a National Sport. You asked for a source of my claims I gave you one, and then you move the goal posts AGAIN, because you dont want to talk about the real thing.

So I will ask again, let's go through your metrics, lets see what they really show, lets see if RL is really the answer.

Based on ALFCrap definition of what makes a National sport, ie an MP making a comment, it looks like the AFL is Australia's national sport, well at least the National Football.

Not just an MP, not just a sports minister, but in fact the Prime Minister, now maybe you could technically go higher and find a quote from the Queen saying Ping Pong is, but until then it looks like Australia has a national sport well according to the criteria established by AFLcrap

Unfortunately Crapper just can't understand that politicians will say just about anything to get elected - they pander to groups and tell them what they want to hear. Crapper sets some bizarre metrics so he can say RL is number 1 yet ignores reality - Australia is one of the most competitive markets for sport RL would be lucky to have 15% of that market in NZ again lucky to be 15% in PNG where it is dominate out of 7 mil only 32k play it's not even .05% of the population that doesn't show a code which is played in every school yard and alleyway - it shows a population that most prop has other things that are more important like food and a place to live. I'm not suggesting they are equal but it's far from being only RL and as been pointed out RU and Soccer are also big there too. This thread is a fail big time!
