Gold Coast Suns

Post by Beaussie »

Hmm, can they beat the Blues at the Gabba? Was watching Marngrook Footy Show last night and they said 4 out of 6 times new teams have won their first game. Hard to tip this one with Judd's 200th game. Who should I tip?

Thinking Blues but my heart says Go Suns!

I was looking at the Suns team on paper the other night and they actually have a pretty damn good team  could this be another case of a bought premiership for a team to get people on board?

OMG, poor Suns. Little boys out there against the big men. End result a thrashing.

Yep, I'm not sure how this team will go. Maybe half way through the season they'll pick up... but team harmony has to be shoddy with Karmichael Hunt getting paid big bucks without walking the walk while other players get less.

Agree 100% about team harmony and massive difference lowest to highest paid, Honeymoon over for bluey must have been easy coaching before they had to play AFL games

Do you remember the Brisbane Bears when Brisbane got their first AFL team. trhey were woeful. The Suns have some talent....but much of it is pretty young at the moment. They will improve heaps by the end of the year.

You could pay me a million a year and id make karmichael hunt look like the waste of money he is! or he'd make me look like a star haha
It doesn't help the suns cause having that dickhead cambell brown running around trying to take peoples heads off. #-o more wasted money!

I think most people realise hunt and folau arer just marketing tools will never be topline AFL players but will serve their purpose.

So I wonder what happens with them once their purpose is served. How long is karmichaels contract? Be interesting to see what his second contract is, that is if he doesnt get dumped to third division for the local mixed (mens/womens) aussie rules comp.

All said and done though I have to say Karmichael doesnt look much worse than some of the others on the suns team. Did anyone notice how many times they literally ran into each other on saturday  some of the best contested marks ive seen all season  and the odd accidental hip and shoulder thrown in for good measure

Think KHunt's contract runs till the end of next season from memory. I think he'll be alright in time. Looks better than Izzy.
