The AFL is on the verge of announcing an historic new broadcast deal potentially worth $2 billion over six years with the Seven Network and Foxtel starting in 2017.The_Wookie wrote:Its caro. We'll see.
The_Wookie wrote:It is less games on seven but only slightly. It means saturday afternoons wont be on Seven anymore - they rate like shit anyway unless theres a big team playing in victoria.
it wont affect the local broadcast rule for teams outside victoria though - something the NRL still hasnt done as far as Im aware, so Storm fans will still be screwed on FTA.
and less than the NRL? NRL deal isnt complete yet, and the AFL one we have almost no details about.
:_<> :_<>Well the one thing you can be sure off, ahhh and its all news to me but you would say its gotta be North of 1.7million. If Rugby League have gone 1.7m lordy then there is no way Gill McGloclen is gunna stand up and put is chest out and say we got 1.6million.
Gotta love how you bum sniffers continuously troll through AFL media! Then draw up your own NFI made up conclusion and run with it!eelofwest wrote:The_Wookie wrote:It is less games on seven but only slightly. 2billion over 6 years is 1.66billion over 5 year.
Gill was correct, he valued the rights for AFL at 1.7max, he was spot on.
I will shine that silver medal up for ya guys, free of charge now that you will be struggling for coin...![]()

They must feel they can get more money this way.leeroy*NRL* wrote:Interesting..
what I don't get why didn't the NRL have the whole deal secured then release it,
why break it up and release individually..
