actually my point was more about the "canberra only has 300,000 people" than the weather. It was the first "but" you listed in a whole series of buts. And you guys go on about the AFL people and their buts.
 still can't believe you whacked up tropical cairns

And nice try with the comparison 'but'

I'm afraid the caurns game was a one off AFL game for cairns wookster, it simply doesn't bare comparison in the freaking slightest.

You numbskulls are too easy! :(/

Neeeeexxxt!

Rl is a sport which is made for television ie a linear code where almost all players can easily be fit on the one camera angle. Marngrook is non linear on an oversize field where it's nigh on impossible to see what's going on anywhere but where the ball is. Therefore people are more drawn to attend marngrook games for a good game experience.

Gdubbyaes gets millions of additional funding and additional draft picks. Canberra don't.

And Yet canberra and gdubbyaes have almost the same crowd avgs.

It's nothing short of hilarious.

Yet their averages are about the same
Just short of 17000 in Tassie today in a city of 100,000. It was a bit chilly down there as well, seems it's just the hard men of league that have trouble with cold weather in winter.
Tassie game today played during the afternoon of a relatively balmy day, prob ground temp between 6-10 degrees. Canberra played in the nighttime, ground temp 0degrees.

Please, bring some bills to the table next time if yA wanna play matey.

Run along now ;)
Hard work trying to defend a crowd of 6000 big guy, the keyboard tough guys of fight club don't want to step outside to watch the so called greatest game of all unless it's 22 and sunny in the middle of winter. Time to go a pair and maybe buy a bennie, very soft behaviour.
Yes it's been "hard work"

Can you try harder than referring to a comparatively warm day in Tasmania with A freezing night in canberra? hopeless stuff here.

I'll give you marks above wookies cairns one off AFL game comparison tho axey boy! Tropical cairns!! :_<>
lol you have never been out of Sydney have you!

if you want to class a winter's day warm in Tasmania :(/

5. Re read my post again and Apply the meaning comparatively to my use of it in relation to 6-10 degrees in tassie and 0degrees in canberra

6000 is pathetic, that's not in question the excuse that it was a bit to chilly to venture out side makes those who offer it look pathetic as well.

Please adumb wooksy and axeyboy, we are trying to tell you your comparisons are massively inadequate, as Are your comprehension skills it seems.

A comparison with tassie and cairns, areas which have barely one game of AFL in a whole calendar, and areas which are warmer than canberra and have likely never seen a game of AFL at 0degrees (cairns  ) are simply not comparable. People are very very cold in canberra at the moment and there's only 300odd k of em in the city. Additionally its school holidays and we all know canberrans flock the fuck outta there like wildebeest during a lion ambush in school hols.

So let's be sensible here.

Given
a) the region is experiencing the coldest snap in 17+ years
B) the region has a population of 350odd thou
C) it was school hols in canberra

We could safely say that a 6,000 crowd was equivalent to about 23,779 during almost any other weekend of the year.

Well done canberra Raiders and community!!!

And aren't they just in sizzling form at the mo! :D

The Canberra locals would be use to the cold seeing it's cold there in winter. Just like the people in Melbourne and Tasmania.

So only 6k turned up? The cold snapped kept the other 2k away :(/

Why is RL people defending this crowd - NO WHERE in the world would a 1st class competition be satisfied with such a dismal showing - you see NRL and RU played in winter, heck I've seen them playing in snow FFS with a full house it's only rugby league that if it drops below 10 deg they won't come out of their homes for, or do they perhaps it's more a Sydney cultural thing - people in Sydney and for that matter are only interested in successs - they have no REAL affinity with their club in RL unless their winning then the caps and scarfs come out of the cupboard and they will tell you how their dyed in the wool!!!! RL in general is the only sport where their fans will brave all, buy a membership or part with their hard earned when their side is popular. Just look at Manly there's a clear example!!!! And it doesn't matter what way you look at it that's the fact of the matter!!!

Careful Swans, league boys are a bit sensitive about this one, lots of random piss poor excuses and carping on about it being a bit brisk in Canberra this time of year. Then quickly followed up by school yard insults and smiley faces which from all accounts help prove their point.

Yeah I was down there watching the game as my misses is a Shire girl.
People were everywhere wearing Sharks gear at the local plaza area.
Some think the Sharkies don't have a strong support base, but they are very wrong judging by how many supporters I saw.

Is funny how AFL always talk about crowds when their own crowds were down 13% in 2014.
And Carlton had the lowest crowd in 10 years just in May this year.
GWS Giants crowds and membership are all down on last year.
AFL really don't have that much to crow about when they look at how some of their own clubs are doing.

It's amazing isn't it! :?> These Vicheads are getting there butt kicked in all the major areas s they get there rocks off by focusing on some poor crowds figures. They chose to ignore, what must be one of the most humiliating moment of there lives, League pulling a bigger crowd and getting better rating in there own homeland. :_<> :_<> :_<> The shame, Ooh the shame :(/ :(/ :(/
