NRL FIRST AUSTRALIAN FOOTY CODE TO REACH OVER 1 MILLION FACEBOOK FANS.
Big congrats to the NRL becoming the very first football code in Australia to get the 1 million..
AFL has a shade under 706,000 as of June 4 2015. While the NRLs is 1,010,757.
So the NRL has over 300,000 more than AFL.
Just waiting for the AFL fans to come out and say they are all invisible people now.

Oh all jealous swanny, sponsors see the worlds biggest social network site with figures like this and realise NRL has good value in their advertising dollars, as well has the huge extra international exposure it must have over AFL.Swans4ever wrote:Good to see their priorities are Facebook and not -Crowds, Sponsors or memberships! 91,000 at the mcg for an Origin match. More than any AFL game EVER in NSW.
NRLs grand final smashed AFLs grand final in tv ratings.

AFL has an expansion team on the Gold Coast at the bottom of the ladder with drug problems while their other expansion side GWS side has falling sponsorship in Sydney and needing extra funds to stay afloat.

And now AFL has been smashed by NRL on social networking by over 300,000 people. Seems obvious who the younger crowd are proud to follow

I'll admit they are great stats for a sport that will never ever make it outside of Australia.The_Wookie wrote:You realise of course that the NRL and its clubs have been leading the AFL on social media for years, and the AFL still has double the sponsorship revenue, four times the memberships, three times the crowds and makes 200 million dollars more a year. Re: NRL FIRST AUSTRALIAN FOOTY CODE TO REACH OVER 1 MILLION FACEBOOK FANS.
the secert to the NRLOL million Facebook likes
http://www.smh.com.au/technology/techno ... 24o64.html
The going rate for 1000 Australian Facebook "likes" is $90.
So says Mathew Carpenter, who is selling the likes on getwithsocial.com, a website that ranks second on Google for "Buy Facebook likes".
The cost of Facebook likes on getwithsocial.com.
Critics of buying likes say it's not worth paying for them as they are often not valuable. But Carpenter, of Newcastle, NSW, disagrees. "There are a lot of stigmas attached to buying Facebook likes and Twitter followers etc, and many are simply not true," he said.
NSW Fair Trading said it was not unlawful to buy or sell social media followers but it might breach the contractual terms and conditions of using a social network. Australia's competition watchdog, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, said concerns could arise when an artificial social media fan base was used to influence consumer choice.
Carpenter's site is one of a growing number that sell online followers. Outsourcing websites like Fiverr, Freelancer, Odesk and Elance have long had people posting on them wanting to buy or sell popularity.
The Freelancer.com chief executive, Matt Barrie, said there were "many" social media projects listed on his site that were "very legitimate" but some were removed "as and when we're notified [of] projects that are against our terms".
"We have a pretty active community that reports these sorts of projects and we will take action when we see them or they are reported to us," he said. "Otherwise we consider them as performance-based marketing campaigns no different from if you hire a local social media marketing person and say we'll pay you an amount if you get X visits / hits / signups / sales / likes or followers. There's certainly nothing unethical about that."
gotta love it! all the real world figures the AFL are decades ahead! simple little gimmicks like social media the old NRLOL are up to their old fudging of the numbers

I bet if AFL was 300,000 infront it would be all legit according to AFL fans.

Rugby League and the NRL is so much better known than the AFL when it has a team in New Zealand as well as players and fans from England and Pacific Islands too.
I am surprised it is not further infront of the one nation only AFL sport.
