The upper deck can also be covered off for smaller drawing games, be good to get the lighting that the stadium has as well, bathed in sky blue (for Sydney FC and NSW Origin) Red and Green for a bunnies game etc.
Added to that a 32-35,000 seat at Parramatta, I would be a happy Wanderer,
I know a lot of people are not happy with the More park plan but i myself don't mind it.
Why spend money on a venue (ANZ) that will always be mediocre for viewing no matter how much work you do to it, when you can build 2 new great stadiums 35k parra and 65k Moore park with a tram line from central to the stadium cutting out that terrible walk up the hill.
We need a world class rectangular stadium in Sydney and ANZ will never be world class, i hate going there for games.
I like the plan.
Agreed I was hoping they would revamp ANZ.
But depends if they can get it closer to the Action, which I don't think is possible
but now I think the best way to go about it, is to Bull Doze the Whole thing.
Sell it off and make it in to Apartments.
One Great Stadium like above in the City. ( transport is crucial)
and Parra Stadium Revamped.
(I do think we need one more stadium though) If this is done.
I would like a 60k stadium out west.) location unknown.
70k stadium in the city and parra stadium at 35k - 40k.
Maybe the rest of the millions which are spared can go to updating local grounds.
the NRLOL cant even half fill its current stadiums that the tax payer has payed for!
so why the fuck should we foot the bill for any more stadiums for your pissant game!
the NRLOL commission is even to tight arsed to put any money towards it as well

Why do Victoria need the MCG so large, outside 2 maybe 3 games a year, you don't fill it, the last game at the MCG got 22,000 at it, Ethihad even worse, no where near filling the ground this year. Biggest game this year will be the A league tonight. So what are you talking about?
Developing Allianz/Parramatta into premier Rectangle stadiums is INFRASTRUCTURE, it stimulates jobs, it provides employment and importantly it gives the 3 football codes that dominate in NSW the proper infrastructure to play. The Government has already spent millions on AFL in Sydney redeveloping the SCG and the Showground, but those taxpayers money was ok? Guess it are the 3 other football codes turn now.
As Allianz is home to 3 teams (Raider correct me if I am wrong, Sydney FC, Roosters and Warratahs) Pirtek with 2 whilst ANZ only 2, whilst SCG is only 1 football and Cricket whilst Showground is half a team.
Seems fair allocation of resources from my viewpoint
it may stimulate jobs but hundards of millions going to waste, more empty ghost stadiums is something Sydney doesn't need. All Sydney codes aside from the swans crowd averages are shit at best & barely even regularly half fill the current stadiums and grounds already built for them. if your worried about stimulating jobs & building infrastructure that will benefit society & creates jobs, built roads, hospitals, schools. not another empty stadium!
Victoria doesn't have endless ghost stadiums like Sydney does to play. the Victorian government puts jack shit on to stadium infrastructure, for the AFL. etihad is privacy funded, as well as the majority of the upgrades to the MCG the last 20 years has come from the MCC and private identities, with contracts in place requiring the AFL to play so many games at the venue each week as well as finals & grand final until 2040 odd
. the MCG holds weekend games, as well as special events, eg like the Boxing day test match, SOO

& one off events from other sports. added in several AFL games that attract 70 to 80k plus per year
the larger teams Collingwoods, Richmonds, Essendons & Hawthorns all average around 50k when playing at the MCG & have done for decades
