The AFL has been wanting to take on the NRL for years, well here's their chance to show how good the sport is and why we should all give up on what we follow in these states and instead jump on board Victoria's game, it's been battling along for decades now. Hold your GF on the Saturday night instead of crying about it not being fair.

I don't care. I'll be watching the NRL.

The way the AFL has been shoved down our throats now for years it's about time the AFL put up or shut up.

Play your biggest game on the Saturday night up against the NRL or continue to snipe from the sidelines about how big you would be if you played at night by remaining on Saturday afternoon. That or concede by not just moving to a Saturday night, but the Saturday night a week later so you get some sort of breathing space in the Northern States.

Will be interesting to see the UK ratings.
...According to Rugby League Express editor Martyn Sadler, five of the top 10 trending topics on Twitter in Britain on Sunday related to the grand final.

Among them were #GloryGlory and #BurgessBros, and while it is an obvious blow to the game in the UK that Sam is playing for a rival code, George and Thomas appear set to rival him as star players for the Rabbitohs after their performances in the grand final. "The Burgesses are from my home town of Dewsbury and they have bought a lot of pride and passion to the town," Stephenson said. "We are all so proud of the lads.

Everyone here in England and, of course, everyone in Dewsbury is absolutely delighted for them. I have known of these youngsters coming through and they were always going to be something different and they proved that they are world class property. They are all really, really talented.

It is such a shame that we are losing Sam but the other Burgess boys certainly didn't let anyone down and I thought they were amazing as well. I know their mother [Julie] and I knew their father, Mark, before sadly he passed away and they certainly did his name proud. I was near to tears in watching the entire grand final unfold. We have had some great players in the Australian competition over the years but these Burgess brothers, they just step into the same level and they are up there with the all time greats, the all time best because of their effort and the way that they put themselves around. They are really good kids as well and they are a shining example to any youngster who wants to play the greatest game of all and I am so pleased for them."

they are understandable. The first had massive sydney interest because it was Sydneys first ever GF win. The last was a massive blowout loss. The ones in the middle are about even with what youd expect from an afternoon coverage

i have issue there. RL is international which is an attractive sideshow for their fans. But they are few and far between and dont bridge the gap of dominance the AFL has over the NRL comp

lets just forget my sport .... kicks the living shit out of yours though eh ? :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
If the NRL comp cant compare with the AFL comp thats not my problem. It leads the desperate to make a sport v sport comparison. Even though the AFL isnt the entire sport of Aussie rules
can't compare ? :?>

didn't the NRL GF take a massive shit on the VFL's recently ?
didn't the NRL's final series attract 500K more veiwers then the VFL's overall on one form of coverage to the VFL's two ? :(/ :(/ :(/

if the NRL had 200 games simulcast on pay then it would beat the VFL by 20 Million veiwers over the season & by 40 Million in Australia with the rep scene added you dribbling singlet wearing twat
hows that for a comparison ?
