Ke has what is commonly known as small mans syndrome. If you have ever heard the phrase self praise is no recommendation then you have ke to a t. Thank God for this site for him as the internet is the perfect forum for him to do such a thing. Each to their own. Most here ignore him unless we're bored. His also a welcher ... But I fixed him up good over that. You'll notice the more intellectual tend to ignore him.... I'm try but can't help myself from time to time... I have a bit of fun with him then leave him for a bit. I messed him up big time teaching a lesson on welching on bets on technicalities ... It's still burning him as you'll see from his response to this.

Let's just say it's a good forum for the likes of someone like him... All talk but no action.

no no, you sad the HAD a strong following. Now you're conceding the needtime :(/
I am talking about the massive head start the Swans had over the Storm, Melbourne Storm started with nothing while half the Swans Supporters are original South Melbourne fans with 50 plus years of history in Melbourne and another 30 plus in Sydney.. Yet AFL is still shown mostly on low rating Sub Channels here though and never makes front page sports news here.... so how can AFL be taken seriously here with coverage like that???

You know next to nothing - how about the Storm having the backing of News?? Or being gifted great players? Or generous handouts? No the Swans did it tough from day one with NO SUPPORT until recently - and without cheating!

The storm suck. They're cheaters and should be booted from the comp completely as should the other side which is solely called melboure, the demons. Fukking cheats as well and don't deserve to be there. Seems its got something to do with 'melbourne'

You honestly think the people of Sydney care about the Swans history pre 1980? :[]

The AFL is taken seriously because the swans monster all other Sydney clubs as far as crowds, sponsorship and members is concerned. I'm yet to hear a single explanation for this from NRL fans. All they do is go back to ratings. Yet the swans averaged around 100k with FTA and fox, which is about 1/4 the NRLs ratings in Sydney on FTA. Not bad for a non-heartland sport

Your talking fox, but on free to air their ratings are usually about 1/8th of NRL games in Sydney when it comes to ratings.
AFL is more a rich persons sport here in Sydney anyway. Most of their supporters are from the lower North Shore and Eastern Suburbs or inner city.
I can't see it ever attracting Sydneys large working class areas. Has a real stigma attached to it as been for white middle and upper class people only. How many Islanders, Westies and Arabs do you see into AFL in Sydney. Pretty much none.

swans games have been 70-80k in prime time on fta. Plus its shown concurretly on fox with Sydney having the countries highest subsription rates. all up 100k minimum per game. not bad given a number of NRL games rate under 400k on FN

as for this "rich persons" sport rubbish, the AFL crosses all financial classes. You only have to look at Collingwoods average fan to see that.

That is Melbourne, in Sydney AFL is followed by a very different crowd. AFL is a rich Eastern Suburbs snobs game here.

You keep talking about ratings when the first two State of Origins and the NRL grand final clearly had alot more viewers than your AFL grand final :<>

whats wrong with wealthy people?

yes, they were also shown in prime time. When the game are up against each other like the first two weeks of the finals the AFL won easily

The pain you mob are feeling is expected.
After all the propaganda you are fed about how great fumbles is going & RL is dying ,& then reality smacks you in the face then the shock is understandable.

Yes it is a primarily upper class game here in sydney. That'd be ok if the upperclass were the majority but they ain't. Hence the lowly numbers of supporters on the box.

I wonder what class enjoys the storm in melbs?

Nothing wrong with rich people, but upper class types is who the Sydney Swans mainly attract. Is a white collars game in Sydney.

Why do you think GWS is having so much trouble attracting interest in Sydney's West compared to the Wanderers who started after them?
Soccer and Rugby League have a much more working class appeal. AFL has a real dorky image in many parts too :_<>
