Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia
yes, what Smith is really saying is that NRL want to be recognised as the no1 code. There has been that much manure spreading and propaganda gone on over the 'D' years that people actually still believe that the NRL sits in 2nd place - he wants to breakdown the bullshit - enable people to see the forest without there vision being obscured by the trees.
Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

No... thats your opinion I guess. I would strongly disagree but hey, that's just my opinion. The nrl CEO did state I think his aim was to make nrl number 1 and many rl folk see AFL as number 1 too. But hey, what ever floats your boat.

oh for crying out loud, the AFL will have the highest FTA and nalready has the highest payTV audience of the yar, plus the highest total. Add to that the highest crowd total, average and size, add to that the most members, add to that the most revenue.pussycat wrote:ratings - NRL Averades , Total well head.

you clearly do not have any idea about business, its possible to make a profit, easy to make it bigger, play around with some figures, make some cut backs and there it is.NlolRL wrote:oh for crying out loud, the AFL will have the highest FTA and nalready has the highest payTV audience of the yar, plus the highest total. revenue AFL generated over 500 million in revenue to the NRL 300 million odd

the NRL has very little revenue earning ability outside of the broadcast dollar, something they still got less than the AFL in
the AFL invests in grass roots, infrastructure around the country and is paying off ethiad stadium.
something the NRL does little of

Re: The No.1 Football Code In Australia
No, i think you are twisting things. The AFL is by far the more financial of the two competitions for instance. But I suspect you know that anyway. AFL is played all over the country at much higher levels ... Compare AFL clubs in Sydney to Melbourne for instance. Compare number of AFL clubs in Brisbane to Adelaide etc.pussycat wrote:It's not my opinion Fred, the things I mentioned are all 100% fact.Fred wrote:No... thats your opinion I guess. Media deal ... AFL wins.
Ratings... Well people twist these every which way they can it seems but Wookie will tell you it is close . Based on 5 city metro... The only real baseline that is reliable... AFL wins.
Outside of qld and nsw a lot of people still call rl rugby ???

AFL is number one in 4 states of a small country.. Wow, huge achievement.
Rugby League is more popular than AFL in
NEW SOUTH WALES
QUEENSLAND
NEW ZEALAND
ENGLAND
SCOTLAND
UNITED STATES
THE WHOLE OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS..
I could go on forever with how far ahead internationally rugby league is to AFL.
