pirtek stadium just got approval for new upgrades. capacity will be increased by 4k as they build seating on the hills(hey parra, remember they existed right?) in both the home and away ends

they start renovating in a few months

18,986 at pirtek for WSW vs FC Seoul tonight, game was sold out and was their 3rd largest attendance of all time. Great effort if i'm being honest, even slightly jealous.

they won 2-0 and will now play in the ACL final against Saudi club Al-Hilal

the home leg will be played at ANZ, will be a good test to see what kind of crowd they can pull on their own for a big match like this

Good luck to them and I hope they go on and win the whole thing.

3rd highest crowd of all time eh?

(btw, that's not having a crack at wsw, it's having a crack at you fraudfc)

they're representing the country so i wanted to see them go as far as possible without winning the actual thing

but as far as winning the final of course i don't want to see them win. I want my own club to be winning trophies and the ACL is the most prestigious

regarding the attendance comment, no idea what that's supposed to mean but selling out as much as they do is a very impressive effort for a club so young. Obviously their average doesn't stack up to ours, nor does it compare to the amount of times we've filled out the allianz but it's a good job nonetheless :afro:

Well it might surprise you to know that I actually like Australia and Australian teams doing well in soccer just as I like seeing our cricket team doing well and the Rugby League teams I follow.

well i'm the same way. you might assume i'm some RL hater or whatever but i support our national teams in all sports. same as club or rep teams representing the country abroad. dont care if its soccer, netball, cricket or even lawn bowls

when it comes to domestic sport i only care about the success of my own team. the wanderers can go get stuffed for all i care when it comes to trophies at the end of the day. derby day they can get stuffed too, and anything else they want to measure their club up against my own.

but if theyre representing our country in the ACL or vs other codes ofc i want them to do well....up until the final that is...my blue tinted glasses tell me that, that trophy belongs to my club and so does every other competition we enter in

sydney fc is my priority, followed by the socceroos, then the a-league and soccer in general. everything after that is whatever

wsw lobbied the afc to change the venue to parramatta and it got accepted

shame i wanted to see if they could fill a bigger stadium but i guess they want a guaranteed sell out

Should at least play it at the SFS to let as many fans watch it as possible.

The ground looks decent with 30-35k in it.

that was my thinking too. maybe anz was too much of an ask but sfs would of been fine. 30-35k would of looked awesome and they pulled that amount for their gf a couple years ago against the mariners

they put a lot of stock into the rbb and the atmosphere the fans produce at parramatta but as a neutral i wish they had of moved it to the sfs
