Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
AFL Saturday Afternoon final had 236 metro viewers in Melbourne. Give them 150 regionals and Thats 64% of your Melbourne metro number. Though think tv has regionals at 159 for Sydney (147 metro), melboune(236) and Brisbanes (52). so by the time you take out the sydney /Brisbane portion of those regionals, Something like 70 - 80 regionals in Melbourne under 1/3 of the Vic regionals.
Friday nights Semi had 539 metro viewers in Mebourne and 176 regional viewers - almost 1/3.
The Saturday night Semi had a Melbourne metro audience of 532 with regionals of 159 - A fair bit less than 1/3.

As Iv'e said previously plenty of nags lead, in the Melbourne cup, heading into the final turn, but only champions salute at the end of the strait.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Was there any more missing data for the AFL season? Regional Tas? Regional WA or SA or NSW?

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
If AFL rates something in Sydney And Brisbane then I would expect that they rate something in regional NSW and Qld after all this is about 5 million people. 0 just wouldn't be the case. Same would be true for Vic NRL ratings although in smaller numbers. As for regional Tas and WA even if both are averaging 10-20k per FTA game thats still 1.6-3.2 million missing viewers (assuming 4 games a week for 22 games a year or about 88 games for both Tas and another 88 for regional WA) Not to mention satellite catchments. Imo thats probably at least 4-5 million more rating which with the right technology would be counted towards the AFL. The NRL would be missing 1 million viewers as well.The_Wookie wrote:From the released data, as far as we can tell AFL rates 0 on regional NSW and QLD, ratings released through Regional TAM tell us that there are no regional victorian ratings for the NRL.
Ratings for Tasmania are the whol of the state, and both it and WA release a regional top 20...so yes there are missing ratings there as well, but negligble, given the top 20 cut out at about 35-40k in both.

Piesman , Think TV's regional figure is a combination of Vic/Syd/Bris. Ares like Central Central Qld/NSW would give the NRL more sattelite viewers than the AFL .

@MediaweekAUS: Fri TV #AFLfinals @NorthKangaroos v @GeelongCats Seven 768k (Mel 591k Ade 177k) 7mate 233k (Syd 46k Bri 35k Per 152k)
@MediaweekAUS: Fri STV #AFLfinals @NorthKangaroos v @GeelongCats #FoxFooty 382k
so 1001k metro FTA, plus 333k regional, plus 382k fox = 1716k

Looks like the First finals are very evenly matched...
Only difference is the AFL had to use 2 mediums of broadcasts to do it...

There are in fact 88 matches broadcast into Victpria this year on FTA tv. We have records for 15 of them. That leaves 73 regional vic matches unaccounted for. At an average of 150 that could be around 10.9 million not seven.. 10 missing NRL matches at a regional average of 367 we end up with another 3.7 million for league.
NRL = 103,133 (includes all of Anzac Test, Samoa v Fiji, 3x Origin, City v Country, charity shield, world club challenge, Nines)
AFL = 104,563 (without first AFL finals week at 4.8 million, and doesnt include the preason competition (1.7 million), includes only AFL Home and Away Season)
Okay now add the 4 nations tournament coming up at the end of the year for RL and you still loose...............:_<>
Now divide the total by the number of matches played
NRL = 103m Divided by 66FTA/125Fox 854k Fta average with 2 delayed games, 212 Fox average not including NZ Sky.
AFL = 104m divided by 204FTA/220Fox about 480k Fta ave with 1 delayed game, 192 Fox ave.
NRL even with all your coverage still out rates AFL on Fox and FTA.....These are the Facts you people have to come to grips with..![]()
Just for the regular season your chart shows the NRL's PTV at 24.33m they should read 25.44m . over the same period our NZ ratings are 4m not 3.3m. All resuilts are listed. A difference of 1.8m
