No one is suggesting they are. But the facts are, the AFL derives more income from non broadcast resources than it does from tv income. Theres a reason for that, and its not average attendances of 17,000. In contrast the NRLs income is massively weighted in favour of its tv rights income, with less than a third derived from other revenues.

Theres a reason the NRL is trying to fix crowds and memberships. Its not just for shits and giggles.
