To represent Indonesia in the AFL International Cup, you don't to have actually played the sport, you just need a background in it. In other words, what is of priority to the AFL is your nationality, not that you can actually play. It's not a reserves team, it's not a local amateur club or even a pub team, they are literally plucking people out of university in Melbourne to cobble a team together for God know's what purpose.

Credible tournament.
