So using ratingd,as,a measure ofpopularity for nrl and AFL in Australia the AFL clearly wins.

No Fred , They don't clearly win on total ratings - not even if you restrict it to 90% of the NRL.

Close but not close enough . Enjoy that silver medal.

Can you not read ? Go to wookies post and look at total average for home and away

it doesn't matter weather they the bumsniffing fans could or couldn't.

I have no problems as total rating but reflecting Averages

the oveall average will be better for the NRL
the games shown on FTA or fox, are in prime time and never run in conjunction with each other.
the AFL games are shown in all different time slots, early/ mid saturday and sunday afternoon slots as well as evening, many game being played around or at the same time as each other. on FTA and FOX.
so crap on all you want NRL looses
the AFL has crowds, Memberships & sponsorship & revenue to back its popularity up
the NRL does not
only except a SOO state vs gimmick, for 3 games a year people give a crap about NRL because of that factor, out side that, few care about it

Shown after 10 on 2 hour delay is not primes Time!, Nor is Sunday afternoon on one hour delay.

You can give me all the Bull shite excuses you like but the facts wont change. We rate higher on both PTV andf FTA .

what brings the overall averages down is AFL runs games simultaneously, & Sat & sunday afternoons, but thats ok.

Take those 2m ratings off from NZ . The new total for NRL ratings in its club competition is 51m.

Unknowns : add on 5m , and the total becomes 56m.

In our first 9 games we got over 32m . I think its a pretty safe bet that we will do that again in our last 9 games. Making the new ratings total for just club games at least 88m .

The Finals should draw 15m, bringing the total to 103m.

Pre Season is 1 or 2m more: total 105m

Origin: 11.5 , New Total 117m

Rep games already played would put the total at 120m

With 3 to 4 tests to be played its looking good without New Zealand.

Some ratings figures used would be overnight, how many I don't know but add another million just to be on the safe side.

hmm add in the 73% average for regionals for the NRL and the 20% average regionals for the AFL...NRL comes in about 937k, AFL at 1.154 million.
