I guess, you have to say AFL, as League, and Union are only popular in NSW, and QLD. And haven't really taken off in the others, I am sure with some work, all 3 can survive with healthy crowds.

The AFL is undoubtedly Australia's number 1 football code, you can't argue that. Some may argue it's not their "favourite", but it's the biggest by quite some way.

The best code is Australian footy. It is not called AFL as this is simply the top league of Australian football.
Rugby Union is a great game, but not football & thugby league cannot be called footy as it is not a football code, but a handball code. Perhaps it should be called "handy". In fact the ball is superfluous in that game.
Soccer also great, but not the best game in the world which is our national game: the game the Diggers played, so if you are a true blue Aussie, then you love footy. The real footy which is our own!

Agreed, but in NSW/QLD the game is promoted as AFL at all levels. The AFL decided that was the best way to promote the game here and in QLD.

Do you think the Western Force in the Super 14 will affect support for the Dockers and Eagles in WA? Last I heard they had already signed up over 20,000 new members before even playing a game.

Love most sports. So does my 5 year old son, but he will play either soccer (Roberto Carlos type as he is a lefty) or footy (his favourites are Pav & Belly). No rugby for him. He has nice ears & a neck.
After Australia I reckon Wales is the team to support in rugby as they are fantastic people & have a top attitude.

You mean for the Super 14 series? Is so I'd say the Waratahs after they came so close last season. Will be interesting to see how Wendall Sailor goes this year as a Waratah.

I realise it is still pre-season, but the form of the Western Force has been disappointing.

I like them all,but I've gone for the NRL in the poll,because that's the mood I was in at the time,last week I would have said AFL and next week I'd probably go AFL also.It's a cion toss for me.
