You added then toward the end of the season last year. Listen, I'll allow you to continue as I enjoy the laugh .. Just don't get out of line and all will be fine ... Otherwise I'll have to expose you and your failings.

Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
Stkilda were added when they became a bona fide basketcase. That's how it works here at the bbl phelpsy ya dumb slobber mouthed clutz. And I'm not sure you're even correct on the time.
Try do what I do for the nrl phelpsy, just try

Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
Well adding st Kilda in the later part of the season hardly supports your self proclaimed ability to easily pick bc league teams by round 4. Stop embarrassing yourself ke . Also Melbourne ... Beating three teams outside bc .... Hmmmmm. And suns in the 8. Hmmm

Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
No, Wookie. The point of my post was to show genuine basketcases. The OP contains no basketcases. None. Zero. Nada. Zilch.The_Wookie wrote:Limit the discussion to comparable teams and not random country teams and we;re good.
The criteria of a genuine basketcase is a percentage of 10.00 or less. Here is another current example;
Newcomb - Percentage of 9.86. Have scored 204 points in nine games for a little under 23 points a game.
Just another note. KE is trying to claim that the Sydney AFL is lopsided. He's talking out of his rear as usual. In Premier Division the lowest percentage is 51.20 by Hills Eagles, and that's not their first 18 (the first 18 is in the NEAFL). A true basketcase is judged on their first 18.
In Division 1 (it's Division 2 that KE has put on the other thread), the lowest percentage is 55.96 by NSW Uni/East Sydney and they aren't even on the bottom of the ladder! Penrith and St.George are below them with better percentages! One must remember that NSWU/ES in this division is also their seconds.

I'm almost certain you said 10 years KE and it wasn't that these teams would make the finals. It was a statement along the lines that they would be utterly hopeless for a long period of time. To bad someone deleted the old thread, otherwise I would have shown you to be wrong again my friend.King-Eliagh wrote:

the teams that are left are as hopeless as the ones they replaced
they can't beat an egg
& you constantly end up having 2 comps within one which is the essence of E's threads
haves & have nots
this does not occur in the NRL where the talent appears far more evenly spread
line betting in the 2 comps is a clear indicator which code is getting it right.
someone has to finish last
but in the last few years our last placed side has been far better equipped then the VFL's .. & we don't even have a draft.

Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
You get that in the nrl because the general level is down across the comp. having all teams bring average is worse. Is this because there is a lack of player talent ? If you look at AFL heartland it is all AFL. Yet nrl heartland has always competed with Union, and more lately AFL. Just look at how many players from AFL are from nrl heartland ...even now we have kids playing both games ... Sat AFL and Sunday league.

Did you get your case manager to help you write that dave. Well done on writing a sensible and thought out post. See you can do it when you try. Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
Hey hey hey hey hey piesman settle down me man. Look I know its not nice to have a comp where there is a ginormous and i mean ginormous chasm between the top 12 and the bottom 5 or 6. It's just awkward for you all, including the poor commentators who need to make statements about a team coming 6th playing a team coming 4th like, it'll be really good if they can lose by less than thirty. You clowns can rant all you like about form, a team coming 6th at home with an umpire count in their favour 18-10 v a team coming 4th should really be winning rather than suffering a comprehensive beating. Fact is swans played nothing like they did against geelong and the suns had their best team of the year out there...piesman2011 wrote:I'm almost certain you said 10 years KE and it wasn't that these teams would make the finals. five year program having to chop and change your teams every year. I seam to remember your original teams including Port, GC, GWS, Melbourne and Brisbane. Port and GC are finals bound. Melbourne are looking a lot stronger. God I hope they don't knock us off today and they are in with a good shot. Brisbane have looked good the last 3 weeks having a narrow loss to Essendon and beating the Dogs and Carlton. GWS will also be in the finals come 2016. What a suprise a competition with a draft having teams that improve and don't stay bad for long periods. Who would have thought?
GWS finals in 2016!

And GC gunna make it this year eh? I say nup, not a chance. They actually suck quite bad and i predict them falling well out of reach. It's gunna be fun folks, its gunna be fun.
Dont i have a bet on with you also pies? I think it was ur mod badge or something? Any other ideas for a wager? :D

Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
Too true dave, too true. But we gotta all remember. So far the only team which has proven it has broken the shackles of the basketcase league is port. There's a long way to go in 2014 and the suns have a lotta losses left in em this season if you ask me. The slide will be pretty awesome to watch. Stay tuned!Raiderdave wrote:the problem pies is that when some teams do climb the ladder .. through genuine draft process or ... given extra help due to being pet projectspiesman2011 wrote:. Re: Thy Official AFL 2014 Blithering Basketcase League
Alrighty then ladies, you wanted it, here it is! The OFFICIAL BBL Ladder!! :D
BBL Team-------AFL wins-----BBL Wins------BBL points
Melbs---------------3W------------0W-------------0
Brissie--------------1W------------2W-------------8
GWS
----1W
1W
4
Stkilda-------------1W------------2W--------------8
Westdogs----------1W------------2W--------------8
GC------------------2W------------5W-------------20
As we all knew GC have had the draw of the century and have caught out a coupla AFL teams who were simply asleep. But we gotta pay those suns credit, they've sure known how to beat a blithering basketcase for the first half of the season and good for them!
They look almost certain to hold the BBL trophy high come end of season but folks, their confidence is about to be shot to pieces over the next 5 weeks. I predicted 2 weeks ago they'd lose 6 of their next seven and if they go down to westcoast this weekend its likely to be 7 straight losses for the suns!
And melbs
Wow! 3 AFL wins and nuttin else!
What a weird side they've been this season but I must say Roosy, they all say, rooooosssy's fixed em up. Well a mere 3 goals in their last outing says otherwise!
Melb are at the bottom of the basketcase league, they've been absolutely shithouse, pretty much all season long...apart from the sun which shone outta their b holes a few times
Anyway this is all I gots time for this eve folks. Its nice to see the table up again I must say. Next i'll add another stat. 10goal + beltings v AFL teams, GWS's forte but the others are doin well in that regard too
Happy days folks, happy days
Oh and before I go lets not forget. As predicted 5 of my lovely Basketcasers are sitting in 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and last places on the AFL ladder, right where they belong :D
Just lil ol GC who look like they're unable to score 3 AFL wins by mid season have eluded me with their wins against the bbl.'s. But keep watching them slide back towards 6th last folks, keep watchen em slide :<>

I agree in that there have generally been easy beats in the AFL competition. It's usually the result of a few injuries to key players in average or below average teams and they don't have the personal to replace them or poorly performing or valinia coaching.
It also appears that the NRL does have less of a problem in this regard wether this is due to more even player talent in the teams, a greater talent pool of players coming through the juniors, more homogenous skill sets in league so that it is easier to switch positions or that the game itself reduces the impact of highly talented individuals competing against average opponents. Overall the NRL should be praised as a sport for doing a good job this year.

Stop dribbling spambot. There's a more appropriate thread and comp for those teams. You can add them there.
Thanks matey.

All bottom sides on three wins - NRL two bottom sides on two wins hmmmmmmm - looks like one comp is far more predictable than the other!
