You seriously don't expect us believe that dribble do you? Especially after the uneducated comments you make about ARs on this site.King-Eliagh wrote:Well folks, today was an important day. My first game back playing marngrook. Its been awhile and I have to say i was not so happy with my performance but its only the first game of the seaon. I started the game and for the first five minutes was really just walking around marking my oppponent, the ball never came close. Then a flurry of action and running, and well my fitness was lacking i must say. As the game wore on though I became used to it and managed to use my rugby skills to bury two blokes into the sopping turf pretty hard. Even thoughthe turf was soft they took awhile to get upBut alas folks today was one of my worst performances. I felt like Karmichael Hunt out there rarely getting my hands on the ball, not that it came my way much. It was pretty scrappy out there. Perhaps it was the conditions, sunny but long grass which was very heavy and muddy due to the heavy rain on thurs. I'm more used to the dry pitches of alice springs. Maybe it was because the coach ran me in diff positions than I'm used to. Or maybe it was my fitness in the first trial. I tend to think all of these things was the reason I didnt get as much ball as im used to.
In any case I scrubbed up well in the defensive line, without a goal scored on me and knocking the stuffing out of a few blokes who thought they might get through me. So all in all I rate the performance a 4/10. Plenty of room for improvement, and believe you me, there'll be much better days ahead :D

So according to you your ARs career is centered around a fear of contact.King-Eliagh wrote:No, its the truth Xman.
Go and read the first page of this thread and you'll get some of the reason why I ended up playing Marngrook. It embarrasses me to be so honest but that's how i roll.

Interesting.King-Eliagh wrote:No not at all. It begun out of a realisation that the Rugby codes were simly too physically demanding. In stark contrast I deal out the punishment in Marngrook :<> The players just arent used to getting thumped but i prob should be thinking more about my technique as I guess its important to attack the ball more than the man. But on the flip side I also know physical intimidation goes a long way on the field and a good hit early on makes your opponent much less confident.
Yep as I said earlier, there's no 110kg beasts trying to run over you in marngrook. Its mostly blokes within the 70-90kg range I'm smashing each weekendGood fun, its really good fun! :D

Oh dear KE! It is hardly a challenge to run through a defensive line of big immobile gorillas. You just run around them. You know, change direction a few degrees. You should try it some time!King-Eliagh wrote:AAaaarrggghhhahahahaa haahaha hohoho eehehehe Bwaaahahaha haha ho.. he ha..ha...ha... aaahhh. You're a hoot Xman but really we all know if you took one step onto a league field you'd be ploppin poopies in your pink panties and too frightened to put yourself in front of any man on the pitch. When I played I wasn't afraid but I was smart enough to realise it wasnt for me (I'm not great at every sport, just many) hence my switch of codes.
And by the way RL has a defensive line, "running around this" is mostly not done, you gotta go 'through' it Xman
