Id think the brumbies would consider that a tad dissapointing against another Australian franchise

Yeah a warning, you'll find it hard at times to find crowd and tv ratings for this lot, you'll get lots of bluster tho.

Lol .obsession rules his life
Poor dumbo ,like a broken record ,no matter what the subject ,he won't stick to it .

RU will do ok ,but once the NRL season starts it will get very ordinary ratings .
When Aflol starts a few weeks later it will become insignificant .

& I can't see RU doing much to change its position .
It's tried everything ,but still no result .

ARU new Tv Deal

ARU's $225m TV deal

Increase of 15million a year.. Now I am abit surprised that the actual tv rights went up. as the ratings disapprove this.
but you read the article you know why.

British Broadcaster paid a lot more for the deal, therefore passing more $$ to the ARU.
so it looks like foxsports didn't really increase there offer, only for the UK Broadcaster to tip in more money for the rights
giving the ARU a tiny windfall of 45mill a Year. (with a 15mill increase a year.)

Bahahaha having to rely on some tv station in another country that is in a war with another tv station for content helps starve of insolvency for another few seasons, what happens next time round when this newish tv station is older and not starting up?

LOL

Btw, have you seen the ratings on BT sport for the local Union over there, it rates around the same as what the aussie s15 sides rate out here, damn they were lucky to get that increase considering it rates like a lead balloon where most matches don't even register.

Oh wow really didn't think club rugby was that low.. (I new it wasn't the best, but that is shocking
I know Super League Rates really well compared to club rugby..in the U.K

Rugby rely on International teams to cover everything.

the ARU got very lucky...

however
not a penny more from Australian broadcasters in this deal which is what we all predicted
what we didn't predict is a turf war in the UK for subscription providers & this forced SKY sports in the UK to fork out more
plus
a weakening Australian dollar & a strengthening US dollar ( the SANZAR deal is paid in US dollars )
a perfect storm of good luck for yawnion
yawnion in Australia will struggle along for the next 5 years possibly being able to clear its present debts & keep its struggling franchises heads above water

will they be lucky again in 5 years time ?
time will tell

wot it is
is a sobering reality for the FFA
Australian broadcasters refused to tip an extra cent into the bucket for Yawnion for the next 5 years
because it is an unpopular weak performing commodity in this market
it does not drive subscriptions for foxtel

the FFA is attempting to double its rights amount to 80 million a year
but
it is also an unpopular weak performing commodity in this market that also .... does not drive subscriptions for foxtel
it is simply astounding how few people watch the LOL League on TV
& unlike yawnion in this country ... there are no overseas broadcasters bidding against each other to televise the LOL league anywhere else on the planet

Sooker & the FFA is in the shit in this country
deep do do

enjoy hooligans ............. enjoy

fox didn't see any value in increasing their deal as their season continues to be very short(s15), only 5 teams based in australia and little to no growth in the wallabies

originally the SA broadcasters carried the ARU's tv deal over the line, levelling it with the FFA and the new sky deal puts it infront of us. albeit BT never disclosed what they paid for the a-league rights, nor did 9 in india or ctv in china but $20m from sky is pretty nice

we're aiming to double our rights, a lot of that will hinge on more exposure for the ffa cup, expansion in the a-league and more FTA access. $80m a season is a bit lofty as a target but somewhere between $65-$70m is definitely achievable. anything after that would be a bonus if you ask me.

anyway this is the ARU thread so i wont detract from it any further

@wook where are the crowds for the SA games?
