Bit of a worry you'd think when Friday night prime time on FTA SBS rates less than Foxtel broadcast at same time yeah?

I guess ratings for Wanderers vs Victory are reasonable eh?

Based on average numbers like that above, week in week out of the A-League season, does anyone expect the commercial networks to show any interest in the upcoming broadcast rights?

If the A League gets more than a 25% increase on its deal. I will be shocked.

How do these Ratings even cover the costs of covering the games nationally

The one thing Aleague has on its side is it has potential to lock in International TV rights which might give them a nice lift in TV money.

True Point...

It's what gave Union a lift by the English Purchasing the rights
also the US Dollar.

Yeah exactly Union TV rights in Aus are stagnant at 25m a year, its the overseas rights from Europe that got them to 57m a year.

Although Super rugby is the best comp of Union from a quality aspect and that helps them garner international rights, same cannot be said of Aleague.

3 Bien channels on Foxsports package from next year have 25 soccer leagues around the world.
Fetch have just the EPL.
I think fetch will struggle to take Fox subs now that those channels are free with Foxsports package.

Seeing as Rupert has brought in 3 Bien channels for Soccer and is directly trying to crush Optus Fetch TV, i think the aleague will get a nice lift in TV rights tbh. Rupert cannot afford to loose the Aleague in my eyes.

If Aleague goes with the EPL to Optus fetch tv then Rupert knows he will loose a fair chunk of Subs.

The Aleague/FFA has competitive Tension between Optus and Fox and i believe and this will hold them in good stead.

I also agree that Fox will want the A League to fill the summer Schedule,
with not much else of Australian Sport on.

The only thing I think Fox know. is Fetch TV(Optus)
would have to have a production team and service each game..

unlike the EPL where they have just bought the Feed.

In reality I don't see Optus chasing the A league.

I see maybe a FTA network going for 1 to 2 games a week.

Its funny Fox will probably pay more for Soccer than its worth..
