So an easy victory for the first comparison game so the AFL is 1-0 up.

No doubt all the excuses will now come pouring out of the tosser fans:

"but but It was your opening game".....well it beat the NRL's opening game as well, despite the NRL having no AFL opposition in the first 3 rounds

"but but you only play your best teams on Friday".......except the NRL's game was the GF replay, so last year's 1st v 2nd. While the AFL's game was last year's 1st v 16th, an expected blowout

In fact to dispel this lame excuse I'm going to produce a 'ladder factor' for each game which averages the ladder positions of each game's participants. Last night the NRL's ladder factor was 1.5 ((1+2)/2)because the game was between last year's 1st v 2nd. While the AFL's ladder factor was 8.5 ((1+16)/2). I'll average this over the year so we can see which comp, on average, had games with the better teams. For the first 11 rounds it will be for last year's ladder since this year is only starting, and for the remaining rounds it will be for this year's ladder

We will leave the excuses to you. That seams to be your area of expertise . We'll just enjoy the gold medal at the end of the season just like every other year. Hope you enjoy your silver

There's still a couple of gold fish bowl dwellers left on this site I see. For the sensible posters here is the objective analysis: the AFL rated just over 1.1M, the NRL rated just under 1.1M. The numbers were close. I actually expected the fumbling 'blockbuster' to rate more.

RL is once again rating very well and will win the ratings battle for the year.

Now cue the fumbling revisionists diving straight into the bowl for a few more laps lolololololololol.

He's falling back on the same old argument
One narrow comparison because that's all his sport has ( lol AFLW is irelevent when it comes to ratings)

We are multi layered
We aren't a one trick pony.
& because that's all Aflol is ..then that's all he looks at .

Very poor Sydney numbers last night. Failed to make 200k and that was a hum-dinger of a game. Its not as though there now following AFL because they didn't get much more than 20k.

Strong regionals though , more than 75% of our Metro figure.

Agreed. If we can get those Sydney numbers up we'll be absolutely flying. Having said that we are still tracking slightly ahead of last year which is what we want.

Another easy victory to the AFL making it 2-0 after 2 games.

Ladder factor for the afl was 4 ((1+7)/2), and their ongoing factor is 6.25 ((8.5+4)/2)
Ladder factor for the NRL was 8.5 ((3+14)/2), and their ongoing factor is 5 ((8.5+1.5)/2)

you expected the AFL's 1st v 16th to outrate the NRL's 1st v 2nd. Good to see you have such faith in your own brand

LOL I think you going off a bit early. According to those figures you presented there is just 11k the difference. About the number the NRL will/would get for its Gem regionals.
