do you recan if the NRL introduced quarter and 3 quarter time>> ratings would decrease.?

or would the TV Deal rise ?
ratings would decrease due to a longer telecast
it would only be a 15min extension >> with nothing but extra advertising breaks delivering a bigger $$
so there is the positive..

NRL with half time only does help figures >> by how much who knows>> very minimal.
but I doubt having extra break or 2 would see a big decline...
would be very minimal.
there are advantages and disadvantages. 3 lengthy breaks in the game would turn some viewers off. If the game was one-sided people are less likely to wait for a break to watch the final quarter

An AFL match lasts 150m. (therefore 1/3 of an AFL game would be 50m) . Therefore 2/3 of an AFL match would be 100m. The length of a Rugby league match is 100m. (therefore the same time for 1 league match = the time for 2/3 of an AFL match) so the difference between the two games is 1/3 or 50m.

What else are you Victorians taught as school? No wonder you think AFL is doing well :(
my god you are stupid!

50% of 100 minutes is 50 minutes. Therefore an AFL game is 50% longer than the NRL game. I never said an NRL game goes for 50% of an AFL game you dunce! I bet you still dont get it. :[]

An AFL game goes 50m longer not 50% longer.

the AFL telecast is 3 hours. The NRL telecast is 2 hours. 50% of 2 hours is 1 hour. If you add 1hr and 2 hrs you get 3 hours. Therefore the AFL telecast is 50% longer than the NRL telecast

Origin 1 was the most watched program in Australia, 2017 (ie. it had the most viewers)

it had the biggest TV audience yes. However the AFL GF drew almost as many viewers, but for 50% longer

I'm sure program length was factored in before naming the AFL Grand final the 4th most watched show with 4.5m viewers.

Lol
The rampant grasping at straws by the fumbler is hilarious .
Yet if you say that Rl is far more valuable because we got nearly as much money for a product that is according to the straw grasper. .......50% less time on tv ...you get but this but that but but but .

You can't have it both ways .
If you try to claim mythical ratings for AFl .
Then we claim mythical $$ for Rl .....
All by using your bizarro theory .

Alright the AFL goes longer>> so do you want the extra money this brings in..?
or would you like the AFL to shorten the game as in cutting the breaks out..
to see how the game goes on time difference with the NRL>>

AFL benefits with more advert breaks making game longer..
the NRL does not>> but making the game shorter

therefore maybe increasing avg's to what degree we cannot know.

you guys are confused. This has nothing to do with the value of the TV rights. I'm talking about the inaccurate claim that 120m cumulative ratings for the NRL's 2 hour telecast is more watched than 110m total for the AFL's 3 hour telecast.

The AFL GF broadcast was viewed by 3.5m people. That figure wont change regardless of whether its a half hour show or a 4 hour show.

Given ratings are averaged over time, and AFL matches and post match stuff amost always rates higher, thats an interesting call.

Its listed on a number of sites. Australian most watched show 2017 - Origin 3.
