in fact I looked through the AFL's ratings last year and only 2 FNs would have been less than 900k, after all ratings were included. Keep in mind that Carlton, the bottom team by a fair margin, played in 8 FN games last year. Where as last night's NRL game included the 5th and 9th team from last year

Um sorry
I just checked wookies list

There were 8 AFL friday night games under 900k
IN 2015
I said after all ratings were included. 6 of those 8 are missing regional ratings. Only 2 of them would be under 900k after all ratings were included. The NRL has had one in their opening round despite being on simulcast

Also, 139k for fox is WAY lower than any AFL FN rating on fox for 2015. What's with that? And this is with no other competing sport.

What a disastrous start to simulcasting for the NRL
Its the 2nd game

Afl have had it for 5 years..

Ur jumping to early..

Little do you know

The union was on last night

Brumbies v waratahs
actually the AFL had good FN foxtel ratings in their first year. It's a poor excuse to say it's early days since the NRL has relied on Foxtel for many years

As for the union being on, LOL

Fri STV #AFL #NABchallenge Sydney v GWS #FoxFooty 125k

So an AFL practice match rated just under the NRL's opening round FN game

LOL

oh come now, an AFL practice game isnt competition given its not even a season game and it wasnt on FTA.

Im not declaring victory, im laughing at the horrible start the NRL is experiencing despite going to foxtel simulcasting. For years NRL fans have claimed the AFLs increase in ratings was only due to fox. Now that excuse looks very silly

It gives afl folk
A footy fix

It has increased tv figures
Exposure of all games
Where it was not possible before.

Im not saying it increases by huge amount
But it does increase.

what, all 127k of them? No excuses for NRL, you had FTA all to yourselves

No, fox hasnt increased tv figures, it doesnt increase exposure either because the same game is on FTA which is available free to everyone. All it does is take people away from FTA to fox which results in no net change in ratings

Sun STV #NRL #FoxSports #NRLRoostersSouths 172k

even with the fox numbers

its a shocking number really (this is a game that rates its socks off Sydney and Brisbane)

Good numbers for the titans game

Even with the lopsided score lines we will still do as well as rd.1 last year.
