How is that entire sentence not an irony for you? Do you even read the fucking article?
ESPNs comments were basically we havent bid, but we're always interested in sports rights.
“We are a sports media company and in the sports rights business, so are always looking at available rights that might best fit our business,” an ESPN spokesman said.
“We are not currently in discussions with the NRL but of course always open to discussions around available rights.”

Why don't you try reading what I Wrote! I didn't say that they are bidding , I said they were one of half-a-dozen companys to have expressed interest.The_Wookie wrote:How is that entire sentence not an irony for you? Do you even read the fucking article?

"Only days after doubts were cast on the NRL’s ability to go anywhere near the $2.5 billion deal secured by the AFL, rugby league finally received a semblance of good news when ESPN confirmed it was open to discussing broadcasting rights."
"beIN Sports, which did not respond to requests for comment, is interested in bidding for the pay-TV rights and has said as much to the NRL"

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
Interesting. Fremantle vs Sydney rated better in Sydney on a Saturday afternoon than Sydney vs Melbourne in the NRL on a Friday night prime time in Melbourne. A game the Storm won and Swans lost no less. Way to go AFL.

"One in every 24 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, a sign that the national reach of Australian football has never been greater," League CEO Gillon McLachlan said.

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
mediaweek today specifically released the top 20 AFL games - including their regional figures.
http://www.mediaweek.com.au/afl-tv-rati ... s-games-2/
Input that data and while the NRL occupies the top 4 places with rep fixtures, the AFL occupies 24 of the next 32 games that reach 4 figures. Lets see that shit on Rugby league ratings twitter.

Those figures don't show Friday night live matches which makes up about 2/3 of our highest rating FTA matches. Yet you include FTA and PTV together in yours.The_Wookie wrote:mediaweek today specifically released the top 20 AFL games - including their regional figures.

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
Actually this shows the data per match, not the result of the two games for the price of one broadcast that is most weeks. This is literally every game that rated over 1,000. Not every broadcast slot, where an AFL broadcast can concievably have 4 different games. And as long as you count NZ and christ knows what else, Ill count pay tv - its all part of our deal. The benefits of simulcasting, one might say. On a per match basis, most friday night games fall between 900-990k in total, and that must really suck for you.
We arent excluding ratings just because they arent fair to league - why would we after the almighty whinging we put up with every time someone fails to mention your precious regionals.

Live Friday night matches are part of the tv contract also. And there are quiet a few - including Rd 10 where there's over 1.2m.

Again, dimwitted one. This is the per match broadcast figures, not the conjoined broadcast figures. Theres are accurate per match, you want your own skewed shit, get your mates at RL ratings to do it.
