did not Melbourne have 4 FTA games this week.
And most other states 4 or 5 games.

compared to the NRL 3 nationally..

AFL win, but NRL did amazing to get close.

if you take into account the few points without brushing them off.
700k is not close. A per match average 60k higher is not close.

Where did you get 60k from Wookie. We are comparing R1 in both codes. I make the difference 15k. Which the current trends in streaming show the NRL will easily make up.

700k is close if the NRL has an Extra FTA Game on Saturday.

Imagine if Brisbane got all NRL games on TV before 4pm, and none in prime time. What about some games before 12pm? How much would that impact their ratings? That's what Perth gets at this time of year.
Yes i get your point.

more referring to your biggest market (Melbourne)

4 FTA Games in Melbourne (AFL)
3 FTA Games in Sydney (NRL)

Yes, half a dozen cherry picked results. I recall finding a couple of others and they were very much in the NRL favour. Just like the ones fox announced this year.

based on this and the information from NRL round 1 -

* for round 1 the NRL rated 116k average on Stream and 372k average on Fox overall.
* for round 1 the AFL rated 84k average on Stream and 238k average on Fox overall.

Points to the NRL. Well done.
Thanks Wookie. Was just working on those numbers.

Not bad numbers (not great) for Sydney and Brisbane considering no local team and in NRL heartland. Perth is disappointing but get the whole time thing - Perth also disappointing.

Those ratings have gotta be disappointing!!! Once Kayo is counted the NRL will get very very close. But these are the ones the AFL has gotta win easily. Not a good start for the fumbling game on top of losing the R1 comparison!!!!

Yeah not great ratings for what was a decent game. Basically getting stuff all from Perth although hardly surprising given 4pm thursday isn't a time when sport usually rates well

i really want to know the latest figures for 2024 and beyond for FOX deals between the codes.

cause at this rate, NRL should be paid 50% more
